To just clarify: the seat tube is 59 cm c-t, and the top tube is 58cm long c-c ... right?
If so it's too long, please lie to me and say it's 56 long. Then I can buy this lovely machine.

So sorry Skully. I know how you feel, I knew it was too small for me when I bought it (albeit without seeing it in the flesh!)
Shorter stem? ;)

How tall are you, sir?

I'm 6ft2 and a bit, with long legs. My other road bike of this era (ie old style geometry) is a 62, so why I thought a 59 would work I don't know.

Ah - my apologies. Not a rule I've come across on other forums, but then again that's where not reading the rules properly gets me.
Mods - please close this thread / delete if you feel it to be applicable, it's not my intention to break forum rules.
Time to face the fact that I've got too many bikes that are the right size, let alone this one that, no matter how much I look at it, won't *grow *to be the right size and is just too small!
Anyway - Sid Mottram 531c frame in a gorgeous gold finish. Story goes that it hung in Sid's shop, lusted after by the chap who eventually bought it. As it was too big for him, it ended up in the loft after a while!
Size is 59 c-t, 58 c-c top tube.
I'm *guessing *it's a Mercian-built bike, but I've not investigated frame numbers or anything. Campag dropouts by the way.
In good condition - few chips and scuffs but nothing major.
Most of the groupset is Gipiemme (Crono Sprint I think) - Really nice kit.
(Cranks, brakes, levers, mechs, hubs and QRs are all Gipiemme)
Simplex shifters, Mavic rims (rear could do with a true) Vittoria tyres. 5 speed block.
Shimano headset - slight notching.
SR stem, ITM bars.
Only bits that I've added are an SR post (slightly scruffy) and a lovely Cinelli Volare SLX saddle, the colour detailing of which matches the frame. Needs a post bolt/clamp.
Given the fact it's pretty much original, and the frame itself is such a nice example, I'm looking for £375, collected from Notts if you're up this way. Can of course discuss courier though if required. I'm 'new' to this forum, so if you've got concerns with shelling out funds to an unknown character, we can sort something out!
Couple of pics on my flickr account: If you like what you see I can take more on request.

Email me at rtedgeAThotmail.com if required, as I am bit hopeless with forum messages in general (although I'll try my best!)
Cheers
