xp, my brother bought a laptop and didn't like vista and asked me to put xp on it
besides the mac drivers are way better for xp than they are for vista
and what Nurse said, virtualisation is a lot easier than dual boot and most computers have enough juice to run two OSs. Try Virtual Box, it's free and has a good Mac version.

XP Pro all the way. My girlfriend's laptop was literally unuseable with Vista (except in safe mode) even though it went back to the shop twice. Installed XP Pro and it's now actually quite quick.

I got XP working, and installed, but unfortunately apple let me down with the drivers. It seems that copies of XP Pro that ship with SP3 are not compatible with OSX leopard. As I don't fancy spending money upgrading to snow leopard just to play PC games on my macbook, I gave up on the whole idea.

Brand spanking new thread to praise the Microsoft, so the Mac thread can be left to Mac OSX users.
Why, oh why?

Truthfully, as user systems go, MS has done a great job. Before them, you had to be an IT genious to do anything. Now its all drag and drop, plug and play and autorun.
Wtf
