Saddle Fitting Without Damage

Posted on
  • I just bought one of these mega expensive crotch protector saddles and I'm trying to think of a way to fit it to the bike without damaging the rails, incase it needs to go back. My best thought at the moment is wrapping the rails in paper, any other ideas?

  • if you ride to France on it they might be able to tell regardless of what you do,
can you fit it onto the spare bucking bronco you keep in the living room and try it there first?

  • Nah I was just planning on riding a few miles around the big smog. I'm 90% sure that the saddle will be fine, however so far I've only sat on it on my computer chair... lol

Even if I just fit it in the living room and try it in there it'll damage the rails. You have to clamp it pretty tight or it'll get fucked up.

  • you could always get pifko to shave a bit of your ass off with his multitool if its too big.

  • Look up your returns rights online for products bought online!

  • It's not my ass that's too big... ;)

  • Put some electrical tape on the saddle clamp. Done this loads of times for the same reason - never a problem returning.

On the clamp or on the rails? Cheers

oh yeah thats pifko I forgot

On the clamp (top and bottom obviously!)

    Fuck you, Vegan

  • Wrapping some bits of old inner tube around the rails should protect them. Not layer upon layer of course or they won't fit the clamp anymore.

  • Who designed it, Salvador Dali?

It has "Made in Italy" on it in 3 places, so I'd say it's more likely to be a Michelangelo.
