  • Ok, so tell me, what ever happened to all the old 1980's tt frames that used to fit blokes over 6' ? has 20 years odd made the population shrink cos all i see is 22" frames for short arses ( no offence to small people ). Am I in a disposition of being the only tall bloke in the country who can't get what he wants or has some elf squirrled these frames off somewhere only to reveal them in the summer months ????

  • No, people now use long stems and long seatposts.

Don't most frames go up to 60-62cm? unless you are over 6'6" there should be plenty of production bikes that will fit you.

  • need to look harder. I'm 6'7'' sold a track bike on here for big boys and just found a 62cm benotto...

  • Stuff does turn up. Just got to keep your eyes peeled. Also, learn who the tall guys are on the forum (benjam, Breaker, Max, me) and jump on anything they're selling :-)

Akcherly 22" is rather tall for this particular short arse, but I take your point :-)

  • Ah ha, found a frame, weh hey.......... oh, but, well Bristol bike project has got it but they don't post and i live to far to collect. There's allways something eh !

  • Depends what you're after - a lot of frame makers go well over 62cm; I've been looking for a largish new frame and have found quite a few that can do it for reasonable price...

  • I like old stuff, I'm comfortable with good old steel, it lasts the test of time. How many carbon frames from this year do you think will still be in one pice in 20/30 years ?
I love the 80's style used in the time trial frames. Sloping top tube, small wheels, fancy lug work, a time when you were free to express yourself..... man what am i starting to sound like ? some relic of the past !

  • possibly being the bearer of bad news here, but I just picked myself up a 65cm frame in the classifieds section, so bigger sizes do turn up!
