For Sale: Allegro Tempest

  • Selling an old racer i bought off ebay a few weeks ago, at the time i paid £80. Couldnt resist the charge plug at £300 from wiggle hence the sale. Its quite a nice ride and has been cleaned up.

Its an Allegro Tempest Road Bike, from research I would date this bike as being from the late 1970's/ early 1980's, Theres a bit more about the company on this thread:http://www.cyclechat.net/topic/53864-bike-info/

    • The bike is Grey/Silver in colour

    • The bike is in good condition though there are lots of scratches, rust spots where the paint has been scraped etc in places on the frame from use and/or age but overall the frame is very good..

    • The bike has 10 gears (Huret) with down tube mounted gear shifters and Weinmann Caliper brakes

    • The bike has the original cloth bar tape (quite manky)

    • The bike has 27 x 1 1/4 steel wheels the front wheel chrome finish is pitted, the rear wheel is clean and rust free. The Michelin road tyres are in fair to good condition.

    • The frame size is 21" (measured from the pedal crank to the top of the seat tube.

    • The bike has nice steel cranks and Quill pedals with toe clips (quite manky).

    • There are nice condition full length mudguards

    • There is a nice comfortable Brooks Vitesse 200 saddle in good condition.

im a bit of a bike newbie, so dont take the p*** too much!, looking at around the £60 mark, collection from clapham/stockwell area, and ill make a donation to the site as well

  • Wow, i had one of these when I was a kid, my first proper bike. Went and got it with my Dad in Glasgow, went everywhere on it, even did a 100 mile ride on it once. I'd even forgotten what it was called.
    Sniff.
Going to go and lie down now.
