• Hello all...

We will be shortly moving out of our apartment and the painted walls have loads of marks from tyres, saddles, bars etc.

Does anyone have any amazing suggestions for cleaning them before our inspection?

The paint is beige. The tyre marks are black.

• repaint the bit in gloss, paint over in matt.

• Waste of time, just paint over it

• i say this from experience of trying to get oil off a wall.

• yup, quick single coat is the way to go.

• No idea Balki, but if you find out, please could you let MrsO know. She keeps muttering something about living ina squalid pit covered in tyre marks.

• I've heard toothpaste with a wet cloth works but I've never tried it. I'd say paint it.

and that's a problem because...?

• Youre moving!?!?!?

• fluff was telling me only yesterday about this thing that called Magic Sponge, for THIS VERY PROBLEM. Spooky. It's a sponge. But magic.

• mine came off with fairy liquid, hot water and a sponge

Use these to get graffiti off the toilet walls in the bar I work in. They're good but can easily take the paint off with it.

• i would try sugar soap, an eraser, and blu-tac

maybe not all at once

• "the bit" is the whole bloody house.

Eraser!!! Will try first, followed by sugar soap

Thanks for the swift replies.

• I would try using cocaine, dissolved in Stella.

I know this works as there are no tire marks on my coffee table at home.

• youre moving?!?!?!

Ha!

• REALLY don't want to repaint.

• sugar soap worked for me on a recent move - Its the sort of think *Kim and Aggie would probably recommend**

**If it makes it worse i didn’t recommended it *
* *

• go on......paint the whole house...... 12" sheepskin rollers, scuttles, dust sheets, 2" brush, high opacity emulsion (is cost an issue) roller poles, mates, beers ........ bish bash bosh as we say....... where are you?

• Burn the fucking place down.

• ^Stay inside and light the match though.
