Cleaning tyre marks from walls, paint

Hello all...

We will be shortly moving out of our apartment and the painted walls have loads of marks from tyres, saddles, bars etc.

Does anyone have any amazing suggestions for cleaning them before our inspection?

The paint is beige. The tyre marks are black.

repaint the bit in gloss, paint over in matt.

Waste of time, just paint over it

i say this from experience of trying to get oil off a wall.

yup, quick single coat is the way to go.

I've heard toothpaste with a wet cloth works but I've never tried it. I'd say paint it.

Use these to get graffiti off the toilet walls in the bar I work in. They're good but can easily take the paint off with it.

i would try sugar soap, an eraser, and blu-tac

Mr clean magic eraser works well. i dont know where to buy it in the uk.

borax works good too.

REALLY don't want to repaint.

sugar soap worked for me on a recent move - Its the sort of think *Kim and Aggie would probably recommend**

go on......paint the whole house...... 12" sheepskin rollers, scuttles, dust sheets, 2" brush, high opacity emulsion (is cost an issue) roller poles, mates, beers ........ bish bash bosh as we say....... where are you?
