The pitting on the dropouts is terrible. Is a frame that has rusted badly, and been repainted, or just cheap, badly cast metal?
-
• #3
Like i said..they are pretty cheap.. no rust and they are all brand new.

looks like any archie's speedway with a road fork
-

They're definitely not Archies, the headtube isn't that aggressive.
Nowt wrong with cheap frames for some people, as long as they're sold as that. So, reckon they'll stand up to polo, and any idea of toe over-lap Varno?
Also, is the headset threaded? -

Assume english BB etc.Thanks Varno.

Get back to that disertation!
It's a cheap frame for a cheap price. Good stuff.

They are archies.
Ive visited them before, nice bunch.
I think its great that they have taken what was already a bargain frame £99 F&F for the speedway setup.
And are offering a few road setups for us lot, with headset for even cheaper.
£80 brand new cromo frame & fork with headset? Very good value.
Varno was selling them here before as "small track bikes" suitable for youths. This I thought was iffy, because the frames are not that small ( 54cm top tube?) and the geo (long back end) is hardly "tracky".
But here they are being sold honestly as a budget hack/polo frame for a great price. Which is fine, and actually very nice of him. Id buy one myself if I needed a frame.

When I get a chance ill put some wheels and cranks on and post pic. So you can see the geometry etc..
-
• #17
But they're not the same geo as the speedway frames. I've just given one away for this reason.
Have Archie revised their geo for off track? If so, this could be awesome.
Thanks Varno, that would really help.

Pictures aint loading too well for me, can i stick mudguards on it?
-
• #24
Varno thats great, thanks so much for setting that up.
I think it's going to run a bit too small for me sadly, otherwise I'd be all over this for polo. If these are Archie Wilkinson frames then they are highly respected and this is a bargain.
If you get any bigger frames I'm in. -

Mudguards...Yea i reckon should be ok...These clip on types easy fitted and dont nees masses of clearance.
Ive a few of these for sale in black or white.
Ideal for a cheap build, winter bike or hack.
With fork and headset...£80 posted.
Frame alone..£65 posted.
