I'd like to join in a ride out!
- BenJam
- Inkymitts
I will point out the weather looks like pissing it down though so I might not manage banners and signs.

Thanks for your support guys, remember it's not a protest so no banners required, just yourselves and a positive attitude!

Incidentally RPM, could you advise on the bike parking facilities that will be available to us on the night :)
-
• #5
RPM I request we all go for a drink and a natter at the usual HH haunt afterward.

Seconded.
Won't make the ride from Central as I'll have to get back South to put kids to bed first.

Indeed. It does seem a little pathetic that hundreds of people will ride around aimlessly in tweed, dressed as pirates or zigzagging across London's bridges, but won't ride a few miles south of the river to show support for what is indisputedly the Mecca of fixed geared bikes in London.
I'll assume everyone is just making their own way there. Nice idea anyway.

i'd personally not want the whole forum to turn up to this event. generally a disorganised bunch. Those who are interested in the track and its future should be really able to find their way down to south london.
-
• #15
i might be able to meet in trafalgar square after all, but if not will defo link at the track.
-
• #16
well err I can still meet you at trafalger sq, but if you'd prefer to go separately that's cool too. I think it would be delightful to share the ride down and anything that encourages attendance is a good thing, but each to their own.
-
• #17
Please remember, don't go to the track tomorrow!
the meeting is at the great hall dulwich college. -
• #18
good job you said that! will go there instead.
-
• #19
See you there Guys...

btw from the other thread, Stephen Fry Tweeted about the meeting and campaign... that could get some attention in places we might otherwise not get. He shuts down websites with followers clicking through

I'm up for meeting at Trafalgar Sq at 6:30, if anyone's still doing it?

I'll do my best to meet you at Trafalgar Sq. too.
If i can't make it for then, which route are you heading down to Dulwich?Stelle - Well up for all breeds of Jam. Last batch was lush, Mrs Sniffy has begged me to ask you for some more.
And yes, spoke cards would be great.
Guys, I'm sure you all know there's an open meeting about the future of Herne Hill Velo on the 6th (wednesday) at Dulwich College (If you don't go check out http://www.savethevelodrome.com/). I thought it would be a good idea to lead a ride out to the meeting so we can lend some support en masse.
Starting out from Trafalgar Sq. (compass style) at 6.30 with an aim to ride out at 6.45. This is the route if you would like to join us along the way http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Trafalgar+Square,+Westminster,+London+WC2N+5,+UK+(Trafalgar+Square,+Westminster,+London+WC2N+5,+UK)&daddr=51.4560807,-0.1124705+to:College+Rd,+Camberwell,+Greater+London+SE21+7+(Dulwich+College)&hl=en&geocode=FYjxEQMd-wz-_ylN1CU7zgR2SDEUL13zFdb3pw%3BFVAoEQMdqkj-_yk1X0rAawR2SDHxO5SqLa4OEw%3BFWnqEAMd6bP-_yEW2isAVJeMJw&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=14&via=1&sll=51.4539,-0.108061&sspn=0.035033,0.090551&ie=UTF8&ll=51.498511,-0.126643&spn=0.017499,0.045276&z=15
Note: If someone would like to do some Spoke Cards I'm happy to stump up the cash and sell them for cost price.
