if i cant get anything for it by the time i move (2nd Oct) its going in the skip.... or make me an offer for the forks and il chuck in the crippled frame.

ring up Argos (in Bristol) who do frame repairs and ask for a quote for the repair plus a spray- you could e-mail the pic for them to make a good assessment.
I'm guessing its going to be more than £150 approx that the frame may have been worth, if its a sentimental job then it may be worth salvaging.
Only sometimes the shock travels through the frame to eg the seat tube......., so a total fuckaroo is possible.
If in doubt sell the forks, and gift the frame & headset to the buyer.
Other than that replace the tubes with bamboo and Araldite it together..................

I won a race in July '85 (sticking my hands up in the air) on an Allin looking (almost) like that; finished the season on it no probs. Still have the frame.
Sorry sight the Bob Jackson. Replace top and down tube, respray... Would that cost over Gbp 150?

Definitely cost more than £150 to repair and respary. Shame.

top tubes can be replaced which will cost around £125-£150 before a respray and new decals... seems like a fair price for this classic English beauty...

There are cheaper places to get a quality repair than Argos or Mercian. They are both at the top of the market, but there are still small frame builders around who will do just as a good a repair. Trevor Jarvis for one, and another up north, i forget his name. But their work would make it more economical for anyone who buys the frame.

Hi Guys, If your looking to keep this frame on the road, I can replace both top & down tubes for £140-150 with original fittings and frame geometry. If your interested PM me and we can discuss further.
Also I can undertake other frame repairs on steel frames, ask Colnago costa or come & meet me at the Herne Hill jumble on the 2nd October.

For Sale: Bob Jackson frame damaged £40?

hi guys, i dont know wether this post is irrelevant or not but i have a damaged bob jackson frame that i thought might be worth something to some one as a repair job or for the tubing. its a 57st x 59tt white road frame that i purchased second hand.
its a road frame which i used as a fixed and it has no braze ons so it looks pretty smooth as a single speed. included with the frame is the forks, which are still straight and have nice lug work and the bottom bracket and the left crank arm (which i cant remove). as i said, this may be completely pointless posting this ad as i dont know how irreparable the damage is. the damage is on the down tube and the top tube where they have both kinked slightly by the lugs on the head tube due to an unlucky encounter with a drain (my front wheel slipped into the drain and i went arse over tit, the frame taking most of the impact aswel as my ribs). £40 or any offer
