Trelock MB550 U-Lock today only £14.95 - any good?

Trelock MB550 U-Lock £14.95+7.95p+p (reduced from £65.95)

Anybody know how good or not these locks are?

Seems like a good saving but not if they're shite.

this 'mb550' is not on trelock's website, but looking at it, it looks like a rebranded bs610

in which case, don't buy it.

I wonder if it is a rebrand, and if so, was it because of the publicity on here? This forum is quite amazingly well travelled.

Actually, I've found it. It shouldn't be the BS610, though the photo is of that same failed model. I'd say it's excellent for that price.

I think the reason for SaturdayKid looking at that lock, was the £14.95 price. The good Kryptos are far above that.

I'd email/call the retailer and ask if the model looks exactly like the photo, in which case, don't buy it, but if it has the silightly different look of the 550, buy it. You'll have to describe the collar on one side of the bar. If it doesn't have that, then leave it. Just to be safe.

Though for its size and weight, it is probably the best.

on balance, given that the thing in the photo has 'mb550' written on it, not 'bs550', and it looks like the bs610, i reckon it's still probably a rebranded bs610...

Not on which list GA2G? I didn't say I was going to buy the Evo just that it was a good offer considering the RRP ;) Still might get the Trelock.
