I always suspected that Cipollini was a bit of an arse - good to have it confirmed.
Mind you, you have to go up a mountain to descend.. -

there's no sense in a "limited" edition when all it takes to generate more copies is pushing the print button.
limited editions are for stuff where there is actual work involved in each single piece, like screenprinting, letterpress etc. -

but but but its a "limited edition" -controlled by the numbers you punch into the printer to make copies surely?
I mean the printer can't just go off and make as many copies as its likes can it......

If he's only selling 50 signed and numbered then that makes them
limited as he won't be signing and numbering any more. -

uninspiring (imho) :()

Horses for courses. Giclee can do what litho, screenprint, etching etc cant do: create high-res reproductions of paintings, sculptures or photos.
If the artist signs and numbers their giclee prints does it automatically have less worth because it came from a computer, its still a picture of their work and its still signed and numbered by the artist.Where do you draw the line? Look at the popularity of risograph, thats a cross between a photocopy and a screenprint, do these make no sense too?

Those prints do not look like they were making use of the possibilities of Giclee printing. Nothing wrong, but a bit bland, no?

After a very successful visit to the little boys room, I am now taking offers on my own limited editions. Not strictly 'hand' made but my own creation all the same... and for every one I sell, I'll donate one to the forum

True, what I said doesnt really apply to those cycling prints per se but giclee in general.
Hi, I have recently designed and produced a series of limited edition prints with cycling quotes. They are limited to 50 prints per colour, and are signed and numbered. They are printed on heavyweight stock and are available in A3 and A2.
