  • Knog lights are fuckin shit. Recommend some lights that are better, but just as easy to attach/remove...

  • the power of jebus

    or a joystick light

Got this, much brighter than knog, not quite as quick to remove.

  • the similar to knog that on-one sells are good

  • have we've had this thread before, no?.....anyway the SMART lights are pretty good, got rear lights on mine and my partners bike, never had a problem with them.

  • dont bother with single led lights

on a rainy night you are invisible to other road users

  • me knogs were 5 Led and I had two at the front... 10 bright LED's was pretty good.

  • or a proper light is better

lights are such an important safety feature, i never understand why people want to spend over the odds on njs kit and then scrimp on lights

  • what's a proper light then?

those on-one's up there is as bright, if not brighter, than the lights i used back in sweden during winter. there's of course better lights these days, but they seem enough in a city with lit streets?

Check out this site. Though it is from USA look for a torch called P7. Good and bright. If not happy with that they have other specs.

I foolishly spent £60 on knogs. Hardly skimping. The 2 front ones were bright as fuck. However, if I had known how un-waterproof and automaticallyswitching-on-inside-the-backpack they were before I opened the packet, I wouldn't have bought them

Fenix lights are good and I have wanted a couple for ages, but the wider 5-led knog and its integral attachment 'mechanism' won me over

plus, NJS, I don't even know what the fuck that is, except its for fashionistas who want to ruin proper track parts by using them on the road

Yeah because Nitto Steel bars and DID chains are fragile as fuck

  • Yeah because Nitto Steel bars and DID chains are fragile as fuck

Yes its incredibly rare to see a dented/crippled njs frame...

  • and those are ruined on the the track, whats your point?

  • Just picked up a pair of these Cateye Loops, not used them at night yet, but they seem pretty bright, 180^ light. Also very easy to take on / off.

LOL your sarcasm indicates that you are offended.

You know that people don't do track racing in the rain, don't you?

Now if you don't have anything useful to say about lights, please shut the fuck up.

Not getting into this as your point above was clearly on topic for this thread - and I have ridden in the rain at HH for your info - just saying that not everything stamped with NJS is for posy fashionistas, who want to ruin NJS parts by riding them on the road. A lot of it strong as, and very well suited for road riding. Happy Friday, I'm out

  • YouTube- 60th Japanese championship keirin semifinal

Cannot tell if it is raining, the track looks wet thought ; )

  • I use lupine wilmas, front and back; back I got a red gel (from a stage light) stuck inside the clear plastic bit.
They are exceeding bloody expensive but as bright as car headlights (honestly, I swear). if you detach all the additional mounting they have the same band to a hook as knogs.
I would recommend getting them second hand, they'll still cost a fair bit but no-one will be unsure of where you are on the road. They're dirt, liquid and accident proof too. There's a separate battery pack but it's easily attached. They're not the prettiest lights.

Good light for when you didn't expect to be out late, but not for day 2 day use IMO.

Recently bought these from CS in Manc as 30% off, also picked up two extra rear brackets so I can move the rear bike to bike easier. Front is bright enough for city riding and rear is superb.

Also - for directional light vfm not sure you can't beat £15 on the Alpkit Gamma headtorch - edit, or £12.50 even

As posted earlier though - there's a lights thread with loads of info on it.

  • I made no comment about njs stuff being weak or defective. Its just there is generally a hipster tax, so you have a fucking expensive bike with a couple of cheap LED lights. This strikes me as fucking stupid.
