I was cycling there around that time. Hope they're okay.

I cycled past at about 7.30 when it was still cordoned off. There was a very shaken looking guy - presumably the lorry driver - sitting on the kerb talking to police. That bike was well and truly crushed. The lorry had got about half of its chassis over it before stopping. I hope the rider got knocked clear first. Although one of the police guys was taking photos of the scene. Maybe that's just standard practice though and doesn't necessarily bode ill?

I spoke to the Plod who were there. Apparently (according to the truck driver), it was a pedestrian with a bike who was crossing over from the halfway island towards the Odeon. Truck driver said he had a green light but the bloke stepped out in front of him. Copper didn't know how the guy was though. Didn't look very nice, especially as the bike was still lodged under the front wheels...

fussballclub told me about this last night--I think he said that he was told by one of the police attending the scene that the victim had been walking his bike across the pedestrian crossing when he was hit. (Oops, didn't read finger_jockey's post.)
Let's hope it's not a fatality--I haven't found anything yet in the relevant newspapers.
alien, you've got the wrong year in the thread title.

Saw the aftermath of the accident as well. I chatted to a plod who reckons the cyclist (pedestrian?) got taken to hospital with internal injuries, hopefully nothing too serious.

Was trying to find out any info on the condition of the cyclist and found my way here.
I came past and watched them wiggle the bike out from under the lorry.. Looked bad although there were no stains (or sand) on the road that I could see. No-one seemed to know anything. The driver was sitting on the kerb looking very shaken and any ambulances were long gone.
I did ask another cyclist if he knew anything and he just started going on about how he thought all cyclists who run red lights should be strung up etc...
Anyway, hope the guy's ok, and looks where he's going next time.
Spotted by Poggs a friend who has just reg'd here.
"accident at the junction of tufnell park road and holloway road, outside the Odeon cinema
rode past at 5.50pm, traffic very heavy and slow-moving
lorry (looked like http://www.fao.org/docrep/003/r1263e/R1263E34.gif) was stopped just north of the traffic lights in the right hand lane going toward archway
bicycle under the rear of the front wheel, crushed
police, ambulance and LFB in attendance
no sign of a casualty at 5.50pm, and when i walked back down past the scene about half an hour later, a helicopter (not sure if it was HEMS) had just taken off, but still no sign of blankets on the ground etc.
7.40pm, SOCO taking pictures, area still cordoned off"
