Well, they look like bicycle hubs. Probably cheap shimano ones from the early 80's. They have quick release and are for a road bike, and Silver in colour.

A fair prognosis, though on one point I think you need clarification - the axles, cones and locknuts are in fact black.

What does it say on the QR levers?

Do they have any letters or numbers stamped in, anywhere, at all?
Shimano has been using a 2 letter date code since 1976. -

I'll let you know about the stamp and lever markings when they arrive; those are just the ebay photos (I'm probably jumping the gun). I didn't know they date stamp components, so with luck that and the VeloBase site should solve my minor mystery. Thank you all :)
Edit: A quick look at VB makes me think that they're perhaps HC-110 or HB-6110 with the decal gone; it's hard to see from the photos whether or not they have the distinguishing lip on the edge of the flange.

Whoops.
I should have said 'the bulging rim'
I'm trying to find out what these hubs are. All I know is that they're Shimano, high flange road hubs with QR. As far as I know, they're nothing special, I'm just interested :)
