Ah Karta.
Good luck to anyone that takes it, he is a nice enough fellow for someone that is so inept at running a business or dealing with people.

Assuming that is pretty much a direct quote from the hirer I would be curious to know an emploment lawyer's take on that!
You can't just advertise a role for a female or a male employee without meeting certain limited criteria. But under UK employment law you can take 'positive action' in recruitment decisions to compensate for areas in which your company is currently under-represented - provided candidates are otherwise equal in skills and experience. That last bit is the tricky bit to prove.
I know of 2 jobs going with a great little cycling and sustainability company.
Two 'n' Fro are looking for:
1 x Shop staff
1 x Events and web person
The shop staff role is really aimed at a female as it's male dominated already, although all candidates will be considered. Pay is a combination of basic + commissions on things sold.
The events + web person could be considered a bit spin doctor, it's a combination of promotions and basic web stuff. Bring the website up to date and help promote the company and products via the site and through events.
The company owner, Karta, is a really good guy with a heart of gold that is fully behind cycling and I've no doubt he would be great to work for and will give you the kind of slack to be creative and to get stuff done. So it's a pretty nice opportunity.
He's on the forum as Karta, but you can contact him directly at karta@agotob.com
I'm sure Karta will set me straight if I've got any details wrong.
