|I got the De Mayo from Mr C earlier in the year. Here's the description,
De mayo steel track stem 10cm for 1". De mayo is/was a copmany located just outside of winchester. This stem is early 90's, i bought it as nos but i think it was mounted on a bike before. In any case it is in very good condition £20

didn't the 1/8 headtube size come out about then?
if so........i wantz one -

hmmm, sounds about right. Don't know how long they were around for. Can't find a bloody thing about them. But it's a nice stem. The Stickers are removeable ;)

ha, i have had a good search too.
if it was bigger, i would have snapped your arm off :) -
• #15
I'm fairly sure De Mayo was a one-man custom framebuilding outfit. If they're still going I'm sure he could knock up a stem for you in any size you wish.

They are certainly more Track than Road, although they were off an old road bike. But the guy who owned the bike originally, was a sprinter, so makes sense.
I don't have any calipers to measure, and there's no markings to suggest on the bars themselves as to the Clamp diameter. But they appear to be 25.4mm, perhaps 26mm. If that helps, if not i can try and get them measured properly.

I thought C Record looked more like 75s (or, if you like, an unfluted NR era crank, but squarer), these look like Record? Am I totally wrong wrong wrong? The Etched logo ones are still betterer than the current ones.

Didn't Corsa Record precede the Record ones? there's some info (confusion) on this thread
To be honest I'm lost with the Campag era's, but as you say the etched ones are the ones to have, or the older unfluted.
OK, new project in mind so some stuff up for grabs. I'm in Cornwall for a bit, so postage for now...
Holdsworth 531 Frame Set –
61cm Seatpost (c-t-c) 58cm TT (c-t-c)
531 Tubing. Nice Lugwork, Original Paintwork is in need of some attention (top tube is ropey see pics) but still has gold lug lining to show you how nice it could be with some TLC. Unfortunately, I’m all out of love, so it’s a restoration project, or classy beater for someone. Horizontal dropouts could make this an ideal conversion. There is a small ding in the top tube and someone has drilled there own bottle cage holes in the seat tube:[ (see pic). But this frame is structurally sound and been ridden by a 16 stone monster, so it’s definitely sound. Wheel size, made for 27's but will take 700 with deep drop brakes.
Comes with Super Custom Double Chainset, lyotard style Pedals, Cages and Straps.
I have just found a lovely campag clamp-on gear cable guide and some suntour downtube shifter, levers and brakes which I will offer to whoever buys the frame. £60 posted
Rigida DP18 Rims – 2 X 32 Hole. The soft grey version, not champagne and not grey ones. Unfortunately, these have been used on a road bike, not seen more than a few hundred miles, so will look better when they are properly worn in, bonus is there’s loads of life in them, and they are lovely rims. The pink/yellow branded, French made jobbies. Brick lane bike sell the other colours for £60 each afaik, I reckon these have got to be worth £45 posted (well they are to me)
Clamp-on Pannier Rack. Goes on any seatpost with 2" of exposed post. Used for a few hundred miles and now have an Old Man Mountain jobbie. As new, but surplus - £15 posted
C-Record Pista Cranks. – 165’s, Laser etched and in glorious condition. The Holy Grail of Track Cranks, right? Comes with bolts, caps, and Mavic 50t 3/32 Chainring in excellent condition. Last pair (just crank arms) went for £250 on the bay, this ain’t the bay but I need to make money with these so,SOLD
Campag Record BB – Italian threaded. A perfect match for the Cranks. Still Butter Baby!! SOLD
