  • basically what are people wearing and what would they recomend.

was thinking 661 veggie or karl straight....

  • If they are good enough for babies bottoms they are good enough for me!

  • I have a pair of nearly new 661 veggies if you wanna buy them...

  • utfsturd

  • would love to have a look at them toddy...you out today?

    B - afraid i don't understand.

  • Man up. Learn how to fall.

  • use the fucking search turd

  • What do you want pads for? Learn not to fall off...

  • I'd like to see you play polo, properly, without falling off.

  • Oh, I fall off the bike but I've only once hit the floor. And that was on to my arse.

Play without straps and you can ditch the bike. Often enough it means that you can get out the way of everyone else quicker cos you're not faffing about with straps.

By 'properly' what do you mean? Full contact (elbows) to get to the ball sprinting as fast as poss. from one end of the court to the other?

  • Only once! Fuck, you're good. What's the secret?

  • no playing enough polo!

  • Cosmic levitation skills.

  • no playing enough polo!

PMSL we play 3 times a week - more practice.

I think the secret might be riding my freeride bike when I can - means that you know how to shift weight around on the bike. And just when you need to dab a foot before you hit the deck. Obviously dabbing in polo is not good but it's better than bloody knees.

Back on to the original subject. I believe SixSixOne pads are good - good breathability but still protective. Dainese are good for hard pads - they seem to be the best for comfort and protection.

  • sorry didnt mean to....
    and where do you play?

  • That's fine.
I play in Cardiff. I've only played with them for 3/4months, The group has been going for 5months now. Were going to try and get together with Bristol to see how crap we are.

I'd like to go to other places to learn from the more experienced but as money is tight no can do.

  • If you really feel the need for pads I'd go for skateboard ones...I skated vert for years and can still walk!!

if only more beginners thought about this. could have saved yourself some nappy rash there louis! ;)

This is weak. You must be bailing all over the place. If you come play in London, you will fall. I can guarantee that.

  • If you're not falling off, you are not playing hard enough.

Turd, the 661's are good. Padded enough to protect you knees, but not over padded so you still get a decent amount of leg movement and they fit under jeans

  • If you're not falling off, you are not playing hard enough.

Is it too late to get some more stickers made? ^

I got some for about a fiver from eBay if you want a cheap option. Worked well for me but then I don't play as hard as the 661 boys.

    Something like this

EDIT: I know diapo was asking where I got mine from, so for super cheap elbow and knee pads, these:

Do they offer much protection? what size did you get them in?

Yeah, they're really padded. I got a medium and they were a little tight on my smallish lady limbs. They've stretched over time and are a good fit now though.
