I feel compelled to warn you that straight bars, even dildos, make your bike look shite.
Could be a Cinelli Laser, could be a gorgeous old Mercian. Straight bars a shite bike make.

Dead straight bars are also the least comfortable. Hands naturally want to be 90 degrees from how they are on a straight bar (which is why hoods/drops are so comfortable)

agreed
charge straw is another straight bar.

Thanks for the responses. I'm based in South Africa so was wondering what was available new so I could first see if it's available locally, so won't look at anything 2nd hand for now.
Mattty, thanks for the link. That looks like exactly what I'm looking for. Will keep that in mind.
Ironically, after posting this last night I happened on the Deda Dritto, so will see if the local distributor has it. It's an option allthough the Nitto might be preferable.
As for the functionality, I am a keen MTBr so am used to the hand position. Well, sort of...I figured there wouldn't be much difference between 0 and the 3-7 degree MTB bars I've used over the years.
It's for my fixie, so as a result I find drops sans brakehoods to be a much worse option than a straight bar. The drops are too low to spend a lot of time in and the straight part of the bar too narrow.
And personally, I quite like the look of the straight bars.
Thanks for the responses!

my mate took his bar from a set of dumbbells and cut them down
fitted and worked perfectly and where super light also,
like the silver one on the right, cut down, worked for him as he had no money and needed bars
-

where you say 'super light' you mean't to put 'super heavy' I take it?
-
• #15
nope.
they where lighter then the drop bars he had on the bike
the picture is for reference, its not the ones he has.

2kg drop bars, interesting :-)
Standard size clamp, straight as an arrow and silver/natural aluminium finish
Does anyone know if there is anything available?
I haven't had any luck
Thanks!
