Special dispensation from forum boss?
I'll bite before this gets nailed like every other questionnaire type dealyo on here.- Howies - Worn their stuff since they started and although they've gone a little wayward in recent years their kits stands up pretty well in my limited experience.
- I generally buy normal clothes and cycle in them. Htfu, cheaper etc.
- Krypto fahg mini
- A way of ridding london of thieves which results in me have to carry the above.
- Transport - exercise - social vehicle(this forum plays a huge part in that) freedom. My bikes are fugly so could never be referred to as a fashion accessory, but thats a silly reason to buy a bike anyway; next year it's gonna be all about dragging an old anchor/i beam around town.

What is your favourite cycling brand? Why?
Rapha, a bit pricey, etc...
i like the design as most cycling kit design is a bit tacky. imho Rapha ia a bit like no design, i think and i like it this way.
rolla kit design is the best, they should only ask rapha to produce it and it would be perfect!! and expensive, of courseWhat do you look for in your cycling clothing?
quality and design. i would rather cycle in my everyday jeans than buy a cycling specific thing that I tought it was awfulWhat is your favourite cycling accessory?

Brand?
I only have Rapha and Gore so can only judge between them and Rapha wins.Look for?
Quality / Performance. Has to be waterproof and hard-wearing.Favourite accessory?
Rapha Rucksack - properly waterproof, fits well, looks as good as when I bought it and well thought out.Easier?
Its not that difficult as it stands, hence is popularity. Theft is the thing that bothers me the most.Mean to me?

What is your favourite cycling brand? Why?
I don't have one really, as I don't own much cycling specific clothing. I have one pair of padded shorts (Shebeest) and one jersey (Specialized) which I wear rather infrequently. What do you look for in your cycling clothing?
Same thing as I look for in regular clothing (see above). Quality and affordability. What is your favourite cycling accessory?

A Holtzman deviceWhat does cycling mean to you? Is it just travel? Or is it a fashion accessory?

Brand -
I like a bit of Rapha, a bit of Howies merino, an LFGSS t-shirt. Not much brand loyalty though - wear what I like the look of and have the money for. What do I look for -
Comfort, looks, longevity/qualityFave accessory -
My fuck-off bright light and homemade wooden guard.Easier -
A light and secure lock - the holy grail. What does it mean to me? -

- What is your favourite cycling brand? Why?
Rapha (no really). Because I’m a ponce, a complete ponce.
- What do you look for in your cycling clothing?
I like clothes to be epic!… Simple designs that look great whilst delivering good levels of performance.
- What is your favourite cycling accessory?
Bike pump, it’s sexy.
- If you could invent anything to make cycling everday easier, what would it be?
A stretchable bag. So it’s a small bag when you don’t need to carry much but a big bag when you need to carry loads. I call it the back bladder. If this could be done, I’d be happy to receive royalties.
- What does cycling mean to you? Is it just travel? Or is it a fashion accessory?
Exercise, the personal physical challenge. Commuting. Road racing. I guess I (and most other people on here) would be lying to a certain extent to say that fashion is not a small aspect, it is. I do however look like a bellend most of the time on my bike.

On the whole I quite like brands with a hint of the vintage about them; though I only ever wear civvies, with mebe a proper cycling jersey if a journey requires the carrying of bits and pieces. As an aside, hunt down the documentary "Sunday in Hell" for some lovely footage of cyclewear circa 1974.
Convenient pockets (see above).
I'm not sure that I've any accessories as such, in fact a rule of thumb is not to take along anything that isn't necessary. As close as I can conjure up would be a cap in summer, and long socks in winter. Cycling accessories are practical things!

Christ, really? It's a slightly cliché mixture of exercise, excitement, improvement, mechanics, and the simple sensation of rotating my pins.
I'm a bit new to all this, but I'd say that there's a relatively broad spectrum of trends, ranging from "about town" city cyclists to sportier road cyclists. Me? I'd not have been exposed to fixed-gear bikes were they not a bit trendy, and I quite like the "make do and mend" attitude of the community the supports them. I'm not so fond of the vanity that I think accompanies the road cycling stereotype. Also, while there are definite trends within cycling, as many people deliberately spurn them as adopt them.

Rapha. The softshell is a thing of beauty
- What do you look for in your cycling clothing?
durability, usability, style

Maybe my Alpkit Gordon Drybag in stealth black
- If you could invent anything to make cycling everday easier, what would it be?
smooth cycleways several storeys up: you get to go fast and enjoy the view
- What does cycling mean to you? Is it just travel? Or is it a fashion accessory?
Never fashion, although its nice to look good while you do it (a general ruile of life for me). Cycling is a pastime: my shed is full of bikes of different types. If I'm not riding one, I'm building one, if I'm not building one I'm tinkering with another. Apart from when I'm working/playing God of War 3/in the pub/debating Neitzsche

- What is your favourite cycling brand? Why?
The one I own the most - probably DHB or Altura. I'd like Rapha but It's costy.
- What do you look for in your cycling clothing?
** Value for money, good performance.**
- What is your favourite cycling accessory?
Without a doubt the best accessory I've ever bought were my SPD's and clipless pedals.
- If you could invent anything to make cycling everday easier, what would it be?
I wouldn't really want to change it. I suppose I'd like to see a lot more bikes on the road and a greater awareness of cyclists.
- What does cycling mean to you? Is it just travel? Or is it a fashion accessory?
**Travel, fitness, fun. I'm not really too fussed about fashion when on a bike, although it is nice to look good whilst your cycling.

What is your favourite cycling brand? Why?
Rapha. Not that I can afford much but I like the simplicity of the design/colour scheme. Stylish but understated and constructed with attention to detail. What do you look for in your cycling clothing?
It's got to be comfortable, even after several hours in the saddle. Reliability - should be exactly what it claims to be (whether it be waterproof, windproof, wicking etc). What is your favourite cycling accessory?
Are shoes accessories? Probably my stupidly shiny red Sidi Dargon 2 SRS Carbons. They make me happy. Otherwise, arm-warmers. The most well-used accessory I've ever bought. If you could invent anything to make cycling everday easier, what would it be?
A magic, lightweight, fail-safe lock which not even bolt-cutters or angle-grinders could get through (wouldn't get so paranoid everytime I was out of sight of my bike). What does cycling mean to you? Is it just travel? Or is it a fashion accessory?
Travel, exercise, mens sana incorpore sano etc, friends, adventures, freedom, challenges.

I suspect posting on a hip forum like this may skew the results towards Rapha in the "favourite brand" catagory.
May I ask where else you have asked these questions?
Anyway;
1 Giordana - The fit is perfect (For me) and the quality is high.
2 Comfort and fit.
3 Knee Warmers
4 Why would I want cycling to be easier? The fun is in testing yourself.
5 The exact opposite of a fashion accessory. Cycling is just what I do. Give me any type of bike and I will have fun. -

Livestrong. Because, I want to live and be strong. And be like lance. Those mandibles. What do you look for in your cycling clothing?
Anything that shows off my chiselled leg muscles and killer thighs to their best advantage. What is your favourite cycling accessory?
It has to be my Rapha headband. Or my designer raincape. If you could invent anything to make cycling everday easier, what would it be?
Some kind of device that makes carrying my bike easier when I'm walking along the street. Last week I got a really nasty smudge on my pedalpushers. What does cycling mean to you? Is it just travel? Or is it a fashion accessory?
It means making all the hipsters in Shoreditch look like fucking tramps when I glide by effortlessly on my goldplated Aurumania with swarkovski crystal accents.

What is your favourite cycling brand? Why?
Prefer vintage clothing, because I look better in it and it's understated.
If I had skills, I'd buy Assos, because it's well made and does what it supposed to do.
Recently impressed with Swrve shorts. What do you look for in your cycling clothing?
Comfort, functionality and ability to mask my imperfect shapes. I like things which dry quickly, keep moisture away from my body etc. (with vintage jerseys it means that I pay attention to base layers, so I don't stink like a wet labrador). What is your favourite cycling accessory?
Hats.If you could invent anything to make cycling everday easier, what would it be?
If I knew, I wouldn't be sitting at home reading internet forums. What does cycling mean to you? Is it just travel? Or is it a fashion accessory?
Healthy, quick way of moving around the town - I can get to places I can't in the car. And there's no strict alcohol limit I can consume while on the bike.

What is your favourite cycling brand? Why?
Swrve. It doesn't look like cycling gear, but functions well, and isn't made of clingy nylonnny horribleness. What do you look for in your cycling clothing?
Not looking like a cnut. I have yet to achieve this. (not Swrve's fault!)What is your favourite cycling accessory?
Cap and gloves are an absolute must. I feel naked without them.If you could invent anything to make cycling everday easier, what would it be?
An atmoshpere of mutual respect on the roads between different users. I'm still learning how to give as good as I'd like to receive. What does cycling mean to you? Is it just travel? Or is it a fashion accessory?
Sociable travel. You can meet and engage with the world you're in on a bicycle.

1) Swrve but I actually have more Rapha (not much thu as it's exclusively expensive). I like urban designed kit which is why I tend to wear more everyday clothes.
2) honestly it has to represent me. So that's simple!, fitted and cycling orientated.
3) Capagnolo summer cap, yellow!
4) a deterant for bike thieves.
5) freedom, exercise, social (expression).
