clean the roadrash and take some ibuprofen. Even if you had broken your ribs there would be no more to be done about it. Also, try not to poke it.

Nothing really.
If its not broken dont worry about it, even if it was, broken ribs tend to be just left to mend without any particular treatment.
If its inflamed & painful you could try some ice and compression, but really it will be fine on its own.

If we are talking about general health/training style recovery you may aswell as milk, fish oil, calcium, magnesium, potassium and a zillion other things.
The boy has a graze, he will require exactly nothing.

" just lost my balance and fell into the back of a passing lorry."
On Euston Rd? It's not your injuries you should be worrying about.
Had a bit of spill on Euston Road today, completely my fault, just lost my balance and fell into the back of a passing lorry. Some nice people at a bus stop pulled me and my bike out of the road and dusted us both off.
BUT
I've bruised my ribs quite a bit and was wondering what the best plan for recovering from an injury is?
