It might be a bit of effort finding one but surely there must be a community youth music group/orchestra somewhere that may benefit from having it.

I thought this - I may well do it but thought I would give the stinky cyclists a chance too. Boris did have a musical instrument "amnesty" which I also need to look into.

I once used a recorder as a pipe. Perhaps Clarinets also make good impromptu pipes. Just an idea.

Would love this for a combination of myself and ultimately my little brother, who has recently decided to give up clarinet (we used to do duets) and I would love to get him back into it....since he stopped he got rid of the one he was renting and figure this would be a great gift to encourage him to take it up again...
Am based in Hammersmith, so let me know....
Cheers,

don't mean to judge, but surely you shouldn't force him? If he wants to play it, then he can have it, but I wouldn't want to throw an instrument at a kid who's just quit and will neglect it again...like me.
why did he stop?

He stopped mostly because he was forced to do it by a combination of school and my parents, but he was really good and I think with the right convincing (ie older brother giving him a little gifty) he might come around since he has now left school and home and seems much more willing to get into things like that again....
Just a thought...understand your concern though :) -

Irritatingly, I still have this.
If you can pick up in Stockwell on Saturday or Sunday morning, it's yours. Please state your interest and then PM me...

I've two daughters at Dulwhich Hamlet Junior school both learning the clarinet, currently using school instruments. So definitely interested.

Happy tooting stanmawr's daughter!
So for various reasons I have a clarinet that has been neglected in my room. I used to play it once but now I no longer have the time, talent, nor inclination to learn to play it again. Sorry clarinet.
It is in very good condition despite being bought second hand many years ago (It is made by a renowned clarinet maker* - I will update this evening). It could do with a proper clean - it is in perfect working order and can be played as is (I tried a couple of weeks ago) but I feel it would benefit from a little spit and polish as it hasn't been used properly in years. I don't have the expertise to do this, but I did give it a polish myself and it looks good. It sounds great too!
It has been stored in a standard box the whole time - this is obviously included. I will upload pictures this evening too.
It really is a lovely instrument. My preference would be for it to go to someone who can't afford one and knows how to play, or to someone's child etc. But I can't screen for this and all offers will be considered. Londoners will have priority.
