Dom will probably need two MacDonalds' to get through 100 miles. Unfortunately I have absolutely zero holiday remaining and can't join you.

"BUMP!"
There ya go, done. Anyone else into this. I understand that work commitments are rife at the minute. Needless to say that it would be great if more of you guys can make it. One week away, today. If we were to leave early we should be there by this time next week.
Donny has confirmed, Gav and Dom are on the fence, so I shall start a list:

Ivanskavinsky.
What route did you take?
The A10 and A149 are not the most interesting nor bike friendly roads.
I'm in Kings Lynn. -
• #9
Dr. Nosh, why don't ya head out. Can meet up with us, and head back to Norwich... Get Kings Lynn involved and build a connection! Trains back to Lynn are regular I think!
-
• #10
Hey Dr Nosh,
We came up from Soham avoiding A10 by taking B roads through:
Prickwillow, Littleport, (short bit of A10) Southery, Wereham, Stradsett, Marham, Narborough, Gayton, Grimston, Sandringham, Snettisham.
Only had the A149 for the last bit to Hunstanton.Where are you going from?
PUP (apologies for the acronym!) is right, trains from Norwich to KL are fairly regular.
Worth it for the looonngg... ride past Sandringham, that's one big wall that fair screams Fuck Off paupers:-)
Just do it;-)

I went riding around Sandringham way in spring, early summer. Was lovely. Can see why the Queen has a place there. Of course, she has a place pretty much everywhere...

The route-

105 miles. Lovely.

Dude, the coastal route looks great but why all the A roads? Norfolk is full of awesome roads for cycling, no need to ride on shitty A roads whatsoever.
-
• #15
Aha, just tapped a route and let the pc do the work. Thought you would be anti roads atm smash boy?!?! How ya feeling now?
-
• #16
Yeah, I'm anti A roads. Fine but a bit fragile still. I'll be back out on Friday though I expect.

Hahhaaha, yeah was good. Met up for a fry up at 7sm. Went to about 10 greasey spooners but were all shut... Found one at Vauxhall St which done a good job. Ended up leaving Norwich between 8:30-9:00. Headed out Costessey, Ringland way running alongside the main Fakenham road to F'ham. Carried on after stopping for sweets and water in the town centre. Headed direct to heacham, and followed the sea defenses (which clearly stated no cycling! Rebels) alongside south beacj road to Huns'ton (as the locals call it). Stopped for a couple of pints, went and got some tinnys and a bbq and heade along the cliffs to old hunstanton for some debauchery on the sand! We were now steaming! Left there and headed to my mate Louis mums pub in Brancaster Staithe (the jolly sailors) then went down the road to the next pub (white horse I think, was well toasted by then!) Decided we couldn't go any further so looked up where the nearest train station was!....
Will finish the story tomorrow!

We had in our minds Fakenham for a train, that wasn't too far (20m or so...). There aint no station in Fakenham so we worked out we had a choice of Kings Lynn (which is backing up on our selves) or Sherringham.
Sherringham seemed like a sensible bet. They were both around 30 miles away, so we endured an eventful ride back. Man my arse hurts. That hill at kelling was a killer. Got to mount a tank at the Muckleburgh Collection though. Well when I say mount it, Gav and Donny straddled the cannon and I took a snap, then I did a track stand on the back of it! Was reet funny. How many people can say that they have done a track stand on a tank?
By now our arses felt like we were some well hung black crack heads cell mate in a US state penitentionary (think that's how ya spell it). Finally got to Sherringham at like 9:15pm, no train for an hour! Kebab in the street. Shot gun a tinnie then wait for the train. Got home at 11:30pm, and had to be up for work at 5pm. Dark days.
Was a fuckin giggle though, and though the alcohol didn't help our performance, I think it was just one of those memorable experiences!
Will stick up some pictures later....

I need a picture of you trackstanding on a tank. Serious.

Mark is trackstanding. On a tank.
Awesome.
Dom and myself are enduring a 100 miler. Norwich-Hunstanton-Norwich on Tuesday 6th July. Will be a nice jaunt. Gonna go easy on the way there, and go like shit off a stick on the way back!
Anyone else into doing this. Gonna be leaving Norwich at about 7:30am from Hartys Diner on Heigham Street... If you can, take the day off work. Would be good to get some people involved, as this will be my last big ride for about a year (what with my second son being born in September!).
