Single Speed

Hi all
I'm after a cheap ladies racing bike or tourer. Doesn't matter if its geared or single speed road/track. Ideally a complete bike to see how I get on with it before spending some serious cash.

Frame size 43cm /17 ins

At the moment my priority is to find a bike that is my size. I'm 5ft 2in.

British Cycling classifieds might be a good place to look - there are often parents selling the bikes that their kids have outgrown (really sorry if that comes across as patronising, but I'm sure you're aware that there are plenty of teenage boys taller than you!). And I mean 'proper' bikes, not crappy mountain bikes like my childhood bikes were. Usually road/cyclocross.

Thanks. I don't find this patronising at all... I've been looking at 'boys' bikes! However, the small frames on there seem to be £600+ and I really don't want to spend that kind of cash right now.

yeah...something less may come up, but I guess it is a bit more high end. You should be able to get a full bike for £500-600. But then if you were going to spend that much you could probably get an Islabike for new.
