Wanted: Two wetsuits to borrow for

Ha.

Me and the Lady are heading up to Newcastle this Friday to Sunday for some beach action. I'm quite afraid of water, so seaside pursuits are few and far between for me, and always a challenge (you should have seen my face wakeboarding). I much prefer my concrete jungles.

Anyway, we'll probably be surfing or something, so does anybody have a couple of wetsuits we could borrow for the weekend? Had a look for some cheapos but they don't seem to exist. Would be a bit of a waste to buy some as we almost certainly won't be using them again.

We are two women, sizes 8 and 10.

i saw some wetties in TK max the other day, I didn't notice the price but it could be worth giving your nearest one a look..

what about renting? know it's a bit ew to rent a wet suit, but can't be that expensive?

If you're surfing up in Newcastle I'm guessing you'll be at Tynemouth? The surf shop at the top of the beach does pretty cheap board and wetsuit hire and are a friendly bunch too.

Well, if they hire them out on the beach itself that should be OK. In the meantime, I will check out the TK maxx in leyton, s'not vrey far away from me at all.

Decathlon do shorties for les than 30 quid....I've had one for 8 years, no rips or tears yet.

I certainly wouldn't condone shortie action in Newcastle! I was up there for 4 years and it was either brave the boardies for 10 mins or 5/3, hood and gloves. I'm sure the Geordie lot will have something to say about that, but I'm a southern fairy.

I used to wee in my wet suit, all those years ago.... just saying.
