  • There is meant to be a sprint up Grapes Hill...

Here is what the tour website says:

"The two stages in East Anglia are by no means easy and each will present different challenges to the riders. Stage Six, at 190km, is our longest stage for several years, with much of it on small, exposed roads, similar to those in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The wind could play a major role here, so no one can consider them ‘safe’ stages, particularly if they are only defending a narrow lead.

It’s great countryside and while a bunch sprint in Great Yarmouth is expected, we could also see a heroic, long break, such is the nature of the stage."

Sounds good! I will be off on my Paternity Leave from work. May take Noah to have a watch!

  • Hmm, a Thursday. Fingers crossed they'll time for hill sprint so I can get there on a lunch break.

  • I think we should do this route one Saturday.

  • The poage on the Yarmouth Tourist Information board!

Leaving King's Lynn the riders will cycle past Sandringham toward Hunstanton, along the coast road to Brancaster and through the grounds of Holkham Hall, then on to Wells-next-Sea. Following the coast road, the cyclists will go through Sheringham to West Runton, then turn inland towards Holt and on to Aylsham past Blickling Hall. Cycling through countryside the riders head off towards Norwich through Buxton and Coltishall following the ring road up Grapes Hill, past Norwich City Hall and The Forum at about 2pm

it will be around 2pm boys. Anyone up for camping out on grapes hill with some tinnies and watch them all sprint up Grapes Hill?

  • Yep, up for that.

  • :)

  • Just spotted on Facebook, someone is organising a Norwich alleycat for the day the Tour hits Norfolk.

    Anyone up for it?

  • Sounds good but I can't mateys. Too much going on at the minute... Lol.

  • Yeah i'll be up for that

  • Can you copypaste the details for the non-FB crowd?

  • **September 15 · 6:30pm - 10:00pm

Starting at The Forum**2 Millennium Plain, Bethel Street
    **Norwich, United Kingdom

The Tour of Norwich Alleycat is a big bicycle treasure hunt around our city, seeking out interactive checkpoints on route to The Bicycle Shop on St Benedicts for a social.

Norwich Alleycats are all about enjoying exploring our city, whatever your bicycle and whatever pace you enjoy pedaling it around the city.

The fun starts at The Forum at 6.30pm where you'll be given a gamecard, with 8 checkpoint locations on. All you have to d...****o is plot your own route around them, on route to the finish.

You can ride in groups or as an individual, and an A to Z is always handy.

**I wouldn't mind riding it as a team if anyone else fancies it?

  • I am gonna do a seperate thread for this I recon...

  • I was talking about organising a Tour of Norwich alleycat with Becky from the Bicycle Shop - looks like she got bored of me not doing anything!

    I'm in.

  • I have rescheduled my week and shall be in, NVS team?

  • Good luck tonight chaps. See ya on the starting line!

Back to the Stage 6 tomorrow... The 3rd Sprint goes up Grapes Hill just after 2pm, closely followed by the King of the mountoin going up through Mousehold. Donny, Gav, SParky and Myself are all gonna head to the latter for tinnies and to take some snaps.

If ya up for coming along, PM or TXT me for meet up. Probably meet up near Anglia Square around 1pm!

  • They were pretty fast. Must have heard about a good pub in Yarmouth.

  • Unlikely.

Got some snaps - whether anything will have come out, I don't know. Will develop @ the weekend and post any good ones.

  • Today was cool. Met up @ Donny's workshop with Gav, Tom and Sparky. We went up through Mousehold for the King of Mountains, out past the sports field and Zaks and got on the dipping s-bend. How ever many police motorbikes were there? Almost one per rider! Got a load of snaps. Dom turned up just before the pack showed up! Will post a few in a bit.

Sorry I didn't get back to you Col, we all ran out of signal for some strange reason.

  • Hangin around, waiting!

  • Why do I look angry??

  • Here are a few ideas why:

    Pissed off with waiting?

We are drinking you are not?

    Just a smouldering handsome/moody pose?
