Looks like this could be a great collection. And maybe would be a good idea, to keep the whole collection together. If you contacted the VCC (vintage cycle club), they would maybe buy the whole collection, or at least give you a independent valuation on each bike.

Why would you wish for such beautiful bikes to end up potentially locked up somewhere in some room whilst a group go round gloating they have a 'great collection of Carltons'. If this isn't what happens with Vintage Cycle Clubs then I retract my statement, but I am in the firm belief that these fantastic bike were build (by hand) to be ridden and enjoyed. These bike will last forever, being ridden, if they are looked after correctly.

@BD I'm inclined to agree with your position, as it happens. It's only stuff, I think it'd be a shame to see them kept in aspic, as it were. Yet, it has to be said that the reason they're special is because someone has hoarded them and looked after them all this time.
If I were highland pro I'd get them ready for Ripley and sell them individually there. That'd be where to find the best* possible buyers. Tomorrow is Ripley, so maybe take some time to collate what's there, and sell them at the next one (there's one in Autumn I think). I reckon Dave Marsh, a Carlton 'enthusiast' and probably the man for restoration and info on Carltons, would be a good person to contact about getting decent advice on pricing them fairly.
You getting this, highland pro?
*by 'best' I mean people that know what they're worth and who will keep them well, won't saw things off them, powdercoat them and stick risers and a spok on them.
