also, it would be really helpful if people who don't want to form a team can come and ref or just goal-ref. also, i doubt the league games will run all day, so there will be plenty of throw-ins too.

you can for this one day, but we've already registered (and paid) for both geneva and the london open as black stabbath. i personally think black stabbath is perfect.

I'm gonna come to this! is this open to people who haven't played before to come down and give it a go too?
-
• #10
yeah of course, they can either form a team and play in the league throughout the day, or just have a few throw-ins through the day.

I will ref/goal ref if needed?

why not play?

I was thinking of doin a 'new to polo' 30 mins or 3 games introduction, maybe around lunchtime/breaktime.
Good way to display our skills and encourage new faces thorugh the week. -

i've got us some barriers for plugging the entrances - about 18" high, so enough to stop the ball but easy to step over.
can someone else pick up cones?
i'm thinking we should format this as a team throw-in tournament (set up teams ad-lib if you're not already in one) and use one 'team mallet' to throw-in.
i don't think there's much appetite for a league set-up and it would be less attractive for any newbies who want a bash. also, i don't think we have enough people to ref and goal ref and organise a league format etc

can people show up at 10am SHARP to secure the court and get set-up? thanks.

After the national champs and cambridge tourney, we've invited Cambridge and Manchester polo players to Brum for a day of polo.
So far we have around 6 people from Cambridge and 3 from Manchester who look interested.
Myself, Ben and Dan will be playing as a team all day to practice from the Euros. If there's enough people who show up I suggest a mini-league format IE: organise teams (probably 4-6 all together) at the start of the day, and each team plays each other one or two times, 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss.
so, register your interest on this thread, organise teams, whatever. all brum players are welcome as it would be really nice to show off our burgeoning scene.
