A mate of mine chose to describe his friend/groom's history using photos. The photos were all pulled from random sources and my friend had photoshopped the grooms head onto them. He managed to weave a story with it and apparently it went down a storm. Everyone loved it. Pretty good twist I thought.

I did one last year, I was really nervous about it but it went really well.
I put a lot of time into it and went through it with someone I worked with who didn't know my mate as I think it is important that anyone can find it funny if they don't know the person.
I had some good material as a lot of our youth was misspent going to clubs dressing up in gear not dissimilar to what fluro nodders wear and not sleeping for days. We lived together for a long time
I have seen a few speeches where they are either too humiliating or private jokes that no-one gets.
I made fun of us rather than him, and eluded to things rather than said them outright.
The best advice I could give (in hindsite) is relax and enjoy it people are rooting for you to do well, I spent the entire day feeling stressed and it was really unnecesary.
I imagine as brothers you must have some great stories from when you were kids!

strangely, i still have the speech on this PC from my brothers wedding. i've attached if it helps. it's a mix of generic and related stories, but i found that it flowed quite well on the day.
speak slowly and loudly. you might think you are dragging your feet, but a slow, well delivered speech is far better than a rushed one.
enjoy it too, because as someone said before, everyone in the room is hoping you do well. they will laugh...
oh, and the story about the fire is 100% true.... ;-)

this is amazing.
oh, and in response to the op, brevity, levity and family friendly. no-one wants to hear about the time you, the groom and a bunch of old mates threw up on each other after 12 pints and 2 large kebabs. most of the guests don't know you, don't care and don't want to hear any of that stag shit. keep it natural, light, sincere, and above all, brief.
as a veteran wedding guest (6 this year, 7 last year, 5 the previous) and twice best man, that's my only advice.
So I'm my brother's best man. He's truly my best friend and rather than default to the internet I wonder if the forum can offer any tips? So please feel free to offer any experiences, whether in the audience or as a BM yourself - I'd love to hear how you dealt it or the best you've heard, or how you would go about it if you haven't yet. Thanks...
