I've seen that picture aswell. not a great deal of help since as you can see mine are of a different type, lacking the plastic washers. they are also an odd matte finish, i hope to polish these somehow.

Downtube shifters?
If you had asked me this 30 years ago I'd have had the answer down pat. As it is, I seem to have filtered out stuff that I'll never need again.
Are they SunTour, Shimano, Huret or Campag?

I have a set of Camagnolo Nuovo Record levers with the band-on clamp, but my bike has braze-on fittings.
I'm looking for the bit with the square hole and the lever stop, because I can't seem to dismantle the band-on to get it. Does anyone happen to have those bits going spare?
Or should I be able to get them off the band-on, the boss seems to be crimped so don't think it would be easy.

Wondering how you made out fitting down tube shifters?
As I have same situation have the wrap around campy with steel center & friction plate that cannot be removed. And that is the part I need, so I think anyways.

here you go, syncro and friction

I love 90s Campag but even I would steer clear of Synchro: it's a world of pain!
Depending on the model you could run them in friction mode, but might as well get some Simplex Super LJ like the pro riders did or Gipiemme "coke spoons" if you value aesthetics over performance.
I've got all three, but the Campag are gathering dust.
Right, I bought a set of NOS downtube shifters for my new build, they came in a loose plastic bag and i have an assortment of consufing washers and fastening equipment. below is a photo... im hoping these are friction type as thats what I need (i think they are due to no notches on inside of barrel on shifter) please could someone enlighten me to the correct order to be put on the frame?
I think the left hand shifter is displayed here.
Ignore the stuff in the top left, the line of washers should be the complete assembly as I have two identical sets of this.
Any help would be great! thanks again.
