what time you going for that? I was gonna go as early as poss and try to do it as fast as poss, but I think it would be a shame to waste a good opportunity for a social ride

me and the missus will come out about halfway with you lot on the tandem - don't think we have it in us to ride to and from leamington on winnie, and there's not option of the train.

Me and my gf should be riding over on the 19th from Cov, maybe will see some of your bikes about. Steve (CasaSteve) said he'd probably be about too.

Nice triangle route - Birmingham -> Cov for BMX, then Cov -> Leam for Peace fest...

I thought the Chiltern line runs back to Birmingham from Leam so you could get the Tandem back on the train. Oh, the Bounremouth - Manchester train stops in Leam then Newstreet also, but you may struggle to get Tandem on there [/train geek]

i'm fairly sure tandem mandem are banned

would be all over this but going to Stonehenge instead on the Sunday morning, not really on my route...

Bummer if so. Maybe worth a call to Chiltern to be extra sure?
P.s. Google found a geek who says this re tandems on chiltern: No trouble on local services (no experience of longer distance services)

Group idea, can't take credit I'm afraid. Just posted it up. I'll be flying solo on the way home on Sunday as I gotta work at 4 so if anyone isnt that interested in the fest and wants to leave early, holla. Gotta confirm the day with some bike workshop peeps first.

20mph is well hard, solo. i tried to get that fast last year, and managed 19 for an hour and a half on my fixed. you can screw around with routes and gradients to help you out, but that's kind of cheating.
it's cool to have some kind of aim, but i couldn't come up with a good enough one to keep training at the expense of polo, which i enjoy so much more than just riding. when i'm older and richer i'll enrol for the etape and then train my ass off for a year to see what i am capable of.
until then it's all just wheelie-goals and half-volley shots. for me.

I couldn't come along in the end...bloody stupid! Glad everyone enjoyed it.
Hey guys, a group of us are going to ride to Leamington Peace fest on Sunday 20th June. 10am meet in Moseley at the benches near Zen and the Fighting Cocks. Hopefully the weather will be great and it'll be a sweet ride. About ten confirmed riders so far including me, Hyper Allah (Fin), Malatesta (Chris T), Nancy P (well yeah Nancy P). There has been talk of a Saturday ride too so I'll keep you posted. Any takers??
