And E&C looks like a rear rack? :-P

yes lets merge a thread about a road layout and a rear rack........
-
• #9
don't know how that happened...fucking rack? i wasn't even looking at that fucking thread. i will find.

~~and e&c is like a rear rack.
seems like a good idea at the time, but ultimately removed for aesthetic reasons. ~~
-
• #12
That's an incidental discussion about the overall layout.
I'm on about the weird chamfers.

Don't like it.
I normally enter from Walworth Rd as quick as I can, matching speed to the traffic, and spin round with little delay. With this monstrosity I will have to wait at the lights half the time :(
The whole area looks much more ped friendly though.
The chamfer looks pointless - unless someone thinks it makes the whole thing look prettier...?

ah, so that's what they are doing - knew they were up to something.
looks like they are doing the same thing that they did to the big roundabout a few years ago. i.e. adding lights -

I agree. This is going to slow my progress no end.
There again it looks a lot safer for most people in the world.

I've always wanted to say it.

^Agreed. E&C can be mega fun. Thumping it through both loops and then up Kennington Park Road is very satisfying.
Unless of course, you over cook it and end up sliding along on your side in the middle lane.
It was OK though. I had hoops as a safety triangle. He did have to jump up and down, because he is less reflective (and marginally shorter).

you wouldn't want to cross thse ridges in the road at the wrong angle...

There's 6 rider down threads for E&C. Above average?

+1 the E&C roundabout is something that needs to be attacked at full speed.
If you hit it fast enough you can always find a way through the usually braking traffic. Personally I like it -

Yes. Oliver probably has real figures, but anecdotal evidence would suggest it's a hotspot for cycling accidents.
There's a high volume of cyclists and motor traffic and the road layout is very poor.

Obviously this forum is full of people with mad skillzā¢, heaven forbid anyone on here exhibited anything less than perfection whilst cycling.
I think it's a shit RAB and anything to reduce the risk to cyclists is a good thing.
Spotted this illustration of the new southern junction at the Elephant & Castle, which is due to start happening next month

What's with the chamfer/fillet on the nearside of the rear line?
I've never seen it before and it doesn't conform with the TSRGD 2002 design, with which we're all familiar.

Any ideas? Is it even legal?
