Grrr I'd like this but I can't really justify it. And it'll fit. FWEvans are up there at the top of my list, along with Roberts and Witcomb.

What worries me is what my beloved would 'just do' when I come home with this.
-
• #7
just do what you did on sunday morning instead of going to the cycle jumble and it will be fine.

hahaha

Very curious (about frame!)..
A provisonal dibs pending pics I guess and a conformation from mate who was looking for something similar. -
• #12
Sounds nice... and only £15 extra for 49Ds - bargain!
-
• #13
or is it the other shape of chainring?
-
• #14
Those cranx, ta atyle rings, cos i aint got TA extractor on boat! Im tempted to leave it as is with campag mechs and cinelli bars n stem, pics in a little while.
-
• #15
If Wired99 doesn't want the original cranks or BB, I'd be interested.
-
• #16
Photos. Cos im busy and lazy, the campag rally mech stays on (they were rubbish anyway), the front mech is fucked. Seatpin moves nicely (turned sideways in photo to prove it). BB is ok too.
A nice coat of clear laquer will enhance the paint nicely.Cinelli b
bars n stem posted seperately. -

Nice bike but I haven't the room. I'd be interested in the stronglight 49D (and possibly the pedals that are pictured too). Let me know if you want to separate them. J

I just dont have time today, and havent got the TA tool within range, so on they stay. I'll look in my French cranks box and see how many TA and 49D i have.
-

Thanks for the pics, that would come up a treat with some good ole elbow grease. My mate seems unconvinced however so undibs from me.
(note to self: don't try and help anyone anymore!)
Good luck with sale mate -

No apare 49d cranks, but a pair of black-label TAs and a pair of pre-label tA. Will post later
the rarity though, is an 'adapteur' which was produced by TA to allow fitting of 150mm bcd rings to the 49mm bcd cranks! Thats gonna have to be 40quid due to its rarity.

I'd take it if I wasn't already busy with the F.C. Parkes frame I bought from you recently.
Saying that, I'll be keeping an eye on the thread... -
• #22
Im gonna have all my sale bits down at london fields on satirday, morning only before departing for the naked ride!
-
• #23
Damn. I'll be in Leeds on Saturday. I'm after a Stronglight/TA BB to use with 49Ds on my old Pennine. If there are any of those in the French box I'd be defo interested.
I read that the TA extractor tool stripped the threads on Stronglight cranks, no? I thought you need a special Stronglight one?
This uses a unique 23.2mm thread which is very similar to the TA. But do not use a TA extractor, it will strip the threads in a Stronglight crank. The Stronglight extractor can be distingushed from a TA one by a shoulder at the base of the threads.

Anyway, someone buy the frame. It's nice.

This is now re-advertised due to Tiswas hiding away as soon as his dibs turned into reality!
Why do people do this, the ignorant fuckers?
1960s, 531 Evans. Lugged & brazed down in the cellar at The Cut. Touring geometry, 23" square,(58cm-ish)125mm OLN. Black, Original F.W.Evans transfers. Could do with repaint but perfectly acceptable as is, (black is best for touching-up anyway). Road dropouts (forward slanted slotted).
Photos to be posted later today, when bike stripped.
Place dibs early, or I might not bother stripping it this week.
£60 as F&F with BB & headset.
£75 with original Stronglight 49D (oval logo) cranks left on.
Can deliver London.
