• Touch Rugby has started up for the summer at Old Alleynians in Dulwich. I've played there for 4 seasons now and can honestly say I wouldn't want to play at any other club.

So, if you've never played, haven't played in years or are just looking to change club, come down to the club on a Monday or Wednesday evening for a run around.

Touch is a great way to keep the fitness up over the summer when the hard ground makes it too dangerous for full contact. It's also great for sharpening your handling skills and helps with picking up the basics.

It's completely informal, nobody cares about skill/fitness level.

So if you are interested ask away.

If not, fuck off back to insulting each other, cunts.

  • Actually sort of interested. Haven't played since school, and wasn't very good when I did play - all in all, I'm a bit rubbish.

  • no worries, I'm shit and they haven't kicked me out yet. I'll be there tonight from about half 6 (coaching/shouting at the kids). It's every Monday and Wednesday at 19:30 for the grown ups/fat blokes.

HTFU, I used to play on frozen ground all the time.

  • 'Used to', back when it was played at 0.2mph

I'll just get them to switch the rugby season around shall I?

  • are they playing in brogues? awesome.

  • when I move to SE27 I'll pop down, right next to home.

Do you play there regularly- in season?
If so do you know a Jamie Cummings?

  • Good man Henners! When are you moving? How long for?

His name rings a bell. Which team does he play for? I play mostly 2's, have played a bit of 1's.

  • Looks good, I'll try and come along.

Now THAT is a marketing strategy. I like it!

  • As discussed with H at LMNH, OA's are hosting a mixed 7's touch tournament next/this Saturday (12th) all day at the club. £70 a team to enter (this covers beer and food), various rules, basically there has to be girls on the team and an older person.

However, there's nothing to stop people coming down and watching for free, the bar will be open (it's less than £3 a pint - G included at £2.60), there will be entertainment, you will get to see me dressed as a Morris Dancer playing rugby.
