ohh I have just ordered a new one myself. Still I don't fancy messing around with the hub on an old one. What did you do to the hub then?
-
• #3
pic of the hub available?
-
• #4
i'll post pics. and will accept offers on this.
mikec.
i dont really know what happened.. for 6 months it ran perfectly.. hardly ridden, then got back from travelling and it started to slip. i then tried tightening it... but must have buggered one side, tried it on the other and fucked it again. looked at the lockring and it was a little bent. -

offers on this accepted.
rim and spokes are in perfect condition, just the hub which needs replacing/repairing.
best pics i could get of the hub.

That wheel is a bargain for someone riding ss only.
Bargain I tell you's
-
• #15
or someone riding only on the track
-
• #16
or someone who only rides forwards

Lockring threads are wrecked, so....
-
• #18
...it's ideal for the track, as a lot of track riders ride without a lock ring.
-
• #19
just a general question, how did they hold up(riding wise).
just i was thinking about getting some when i build my winter bike. -

Ah, I didn't know that (obviously!)

just i was thinking about getting some when i build my winter bike.I'm a fat fuck, and rode mine for a month or so.... great wheels - stiff and strong.

had the same problem - stripped both lockring threads.
went and bought some industrial alternative to locktite.
glued one cog and a lockring. probably forever. -

it's a great price, just buy a decent cog with a sencible tooth count, ride it into the ground and youve got an awesome deal. Another classic LFgss bargin.

Is this still avalible ? I could meet up in wanstead or leytonstone
i've managed to bugger the threads pretty much on both sides of this wheel.
dont ask me how..
so got a mavix ellipse in good condition.. rim and spoke wise :), hub would need replacing or someone with magic hands to fix.
bought the wheel last summer, not ridden it that much if i'm honest, once or twice a week if that plus a stretch of 4 months where it didnt get ridden at all.
£60 - can meet in london or collect in wanstead e11.
real shame as these wheels are the shit.
