Kev at Cov Cycle Centre will do a good job on them.

Any idea what they charge?

Not a clue from memory, I'm tight and it didn't make me weep, so something reasonable! 76559140 for a quote

£35 per wheel including DT Swiss spokes. I could send them to Arup in London and he'd do a 1st class job which would work out a bit cheaper but then when all the postage etc. is factored in it works out about the same.

Maybe stick with what you know, even with postage hassles then?

I'll probably take it to CCC. Support your local shop and all that. Just waiting for the rims to turn up.

Dropped my rims and hubs off in CCC after work. Some nice stuff in there. Your man Kev is a real enthusiast. Actually works out a tad more than they quoted but I've gone for good spokes.

Ace :) I've chatted to Kev before. Apparently he used to cycle around 4-500 miles a day while training (long distance cyclist)! The thought of more than 40 miles a day makes my eyes water!

I heard him mention to another customer that he'd raced for 30 years.
I must keep out of bike shops. I end up staring at all that carbon and doing mental sums. As much as I'd like a nice carbon road bike I don't think I'd get my money's worth out of it.

"Your man Kev is a real enthusiast." Yup!
Just buy the Carbon, then you can stare at it at home without doing any sums ;)

Planet X were selling carbon road bikes with full Dura Ace setup for a mere £1000!

Hope you bought one?

Wheels are done and collected. I'd post some pics but they look like... wheels.
The bike is almost done as well. Just waiting on the cranks, and tyres, and chain.
As I've finally managed to track down a set of rims and paid through the nose for them I need to get them built up. I also have another wheel that is out of true and has a bent spoke.
So can anyone recommend a wheel builder in Coventry or locally?
