Will, would it be possible to post a list of the forum's cycle trainers and the geographical areas that they cover and an idea of price?
-
• #3
Certainly. Things will be added as we go along and get organised.

Got any contacts for Ealing?
Mal is getting more active and going out on her own so I'd like her to get some training. -

Strangely enough, Hackney also still have a page with the same content that's entitled 'cycling proficiency'.
I'm not linking to it on here, though. :)

Also, we or CTUK (can't remember who) conducted a survey recently that showed that every single local authority in London offered some form of training--this year. Did you see that?

There's the annual report from the cycle training partnership which gives a borough by borough summary about cycle training in a lot of detail
This is the most recent

just refered another work colleague to cycle training...feels like my good deed done for the day...
-
• #15
Good work. I get the same warm fuzzy when I refer my colleagues to a consultant psychiatrist.
-
• #16
I've been referred a couple of times myself.

So there is no subsidised CT for someone living in Wandsworth or Lambeth?

• #19
It does - cheers!

I am always getting asked about CT and bikeability and ting.
What I really need is a list of names and phone numbers of the trainers who cover the following boroughs:
- Brent
- Camden
- Ealing
- Hammersmith & Fulham
- Harrow
- Hillingdon
- **Hounslow **
- Kensington & Chelsea
- Richmond Upon Thames
- Westminster
I am too lazy to utfs and don't really understand everything about how CT works and is funded, in any case this isn't my job- I would just like to put work the way of the CTs on the forum if they want it

Saw my first cycling instructor at work down Putney way today...
At least I think it was, or just a very bossy husband/ friend.

RPM: I will see what I can do tomorrow. Most of what you are looking for is in the links at the top of the thread. Essentially, direct people to their local Borough's web site. They should be able to qualify for training through the borough where they live, work or study. There are other ways too; you're not the only one who has a hard time grasping all the funding routes.
I will talk to SkyDancer because an answer to the question What do I say if someone asks me how to get cycle training is a useful one to have on here. And it makes sense for the different sides of cycling to be able to refer people. I had a trainee the other day asking about joining a cycling club: maybe you could prepare a stock answer to that question for cycle trainers to be able to give? -

Cycle trainers aren't bossy; they are confident and have a gift for clear and effective communication :)
