Wanted: Deep drop caliper brakes

Hi Iam looking for a matching pair of deep drop caliper brakes. They need to have a min drop of 60mm and the old style fitting on the back. Also need to be good condition in silver.

I have some Shimano ones without brake pads in them though. Pm if interested.

Tektro ones at sjs are pretty cheap if you can't find any around here

The alhonga is a super-deep drop.

tektro have two versions, there's a kind of medium-deep one as well (47-57 I think), that's similar to the Shimano r650. The shimano one is great, worth shelling out a little extra for IMHO, if that reach is what you're after.

cheers for the tip. Do you where I should be measuring from for brake drop? hilary said the frame i bought is 57mm drop with 700c, but i measure it as 60mm (from the brake hole to the rim braking surface)

I think you are probably measuring it right, I haven;t really ever worked out what's the right way either.

You're best off finding your brake at a shop, then, rather than website-then-send-back-wrong-one kerfuffle.

Anyone know of a deep drop caliper that'll go to 62mm reach... but in black? Search has returned very little.

Also, if I have a ladies bike, and the cable on the back brake is pulling from the bottom, is there any dual pivot that do this?

btw, what about BMX brakes? They might be too wide for normal rims, I guess?

Cheap Dia Compe's have been a bit puny for me in the past but they do a job. Unless Condor come through they might be the only option. I'd avoid the BMX route unless you really have to...
