120 to 130 spacing

  • Hey,

First of all: sorry if I overlooked other threads, but I used the search and google.

I'm in the final stages of building my first fixed conversion.
A BLB/Formula hub spaced at 120mm needs to fit into my 130mm spaced frame.
The axle is too narrow though, with the bolts only going on halfway with washers on, which I think is too tricky.
I don't want to bend the stays either, since the frame is aluminium.

So, looking for a solution, I just came across this axle conversion thing on ebay:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Halo-130mm-axle-converion-halo-track-fixed-hubs-/370379353466?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item563c546d7a

Will this work on the Formula hub too?
Couldn't really find out if these Halo's were the same.
And am I overlooking stuff or can this be done easier/cheaper?

    Thanks a lot!

  • just bend the stays in, way im doing mine
think its halo only for the adaptor

  • any lbs should sell a nutted axle thats longer than the one you have. should cost about £6. swap9ing them over should be pretty easy. not sure if you'll have chainline issues though
