2010-07-03 - Swaintoux!

North Drinks are proud to present Swaintoux! Get ready for 24 gruelling laps of Swains Lane (equal to the meters climbed to reach the summit of Mont Ventoux at 1600m).

This event will have geared(including SS) and fixed catagorys. If Fixed a front brake is mandatory (as the laps go on descending West Hill brakeless will be a nightmare.

Meet at the Flask, Highgate at 9.30am for a 10am start.

24 laps for me would be impossible. My back is fucked after about 8. My record is 10 and that was no fun.

One minor point - the summit of Ventoux is 1912 metres.
Is that sea-level height?

This will also be a good day for those not racing. Just chilling with beers and watching the pain of others. Drinks at the Flask (during) and after. Or even just chilling in Waterlow park. Come up the hill, bring some beers and chill.

The climb, from Bedoin, gains 1600 metres but the summit is at 1913 metres. You're first posting makes the erroneous claim that the summit is at 1600 metres.
