They look cool. But all these straps people are making look exactly like JOL's.

I might be wrong here, but from conversations with João he was on this by the time JOL came out with his. It's not rocket science FFS, it's about the only way they make sense. Congrats on the effort.

I have just recieved mine from Joao and I gotta say a couple things
- Full marks for being a thoroughly decent bloke and being quick on the reply button throughout the 'browsing' to 'buying' experience. Really really good to deal with.
- Really tasteful product this. I really like the whole look of these straps before i've even used em. Excellent presentation and workmanship.
- Very respectful price too. Nice.
So I havent actually ridden them yet as I want to start em off with a new set of pedals and gotta wait til payday (tomorrow) for that. I'll post again though, soon as I have.
Top stuff though chap! really very happy with these indeed.

So i took these out for a ride today. Finally got my new build finished.
Fuckin Ace. Really nice job Joao. They felt utterly safe. Put em through some paces too. Felt nice n solid on my feet. It was pissing with rain here too and i still felt good confidence with the 'connect' to my bike.
My only caveat it getting used to these big ass BMX pedals. This isnt the straps fault, I'm just used to little metal jobs that flick round a bit easier when engaging the non-drive-side foot. On my racer I have clipless too and have got used to the ease of the SPD interface. My commute is so fucking short now this build was supposed to just be a bit of a fun bike though so I'm happy to allow this small irritation.
So yeah.. a resounding 'yes mate'. Nice job chap. You'll be hearing from a few collegues of mine soon.

OK.. the more i use em the more i LOVE these straps.
Solid, solid work Joao
Had the liberty of taking this out of João's blog.
He's producing some really nice, and well made, straps.
Mine are on the way (hopefully), from Portugal.
Here and here.
