Yeah you can paint in little chips quite easily. If it's a metallic paint it'll have a lacquer over it which you'll need to put on too. Once you've painted it, it needs smoothing down with abrasive paper, then lacquering which can be done with a brush or with a spray can. The lacquering will need smoothing and polishing as well.
Halfords do a little touch-up kit that has a primer, the paint and the lacquer and a sanding pad all in one. They're about £9 IIRC. Modelling paint would probably be fine if you can find the right shade.
Lately I have been wondering what the best way to fix paint chips on classic frames would be. If it has the original paintwork and decals I obviously don’t want to re spray the frame. Is it really advisable to just try and fill in the chips with modelling paint?
