  • not yet, but MOC and I have a holiday booked to Iceland at the end of the month - so hoping it hasn't sunk into the North Atlantic by then.

  • They were opening flights at 13:00 today according to news last night.

  • I'm hoping to be stuck in Kuala Lumpur. Apparently planes will be grounded for another day.

  • Restrictions are extended to 01:00 on Saturday now.
Being stuck in Palma and KL ain't that bad :) think of the poor sods stuck at Luton...

  • That is their economy blowing up.

  • I'm supposed to be going on holiday Tuesday morning

I hear it can get quite warm down there

  • My girlfriends parents were due to fly over from Sweden today but can't get here now :(

    Fucking Earths core!

    YouTube- Earthcore DVD

  • I'm stuck in Berlin, t'missus is in Vienna, the office party is tonight in London and I'd like to go home to Geneva. Chances of any of this happening: 0%.

Bloody Vikings and their banks with all the ash-flow problems.

  • Friends are supposed to be flying back to NZ tomorrow via south america.
They were supposed to move out of their place saturday morning goto airport fly out.
looks like they are moving out and then sleeping on my couch.

  • My girlfriends parents were due to fly over from Sweden today but can't get here now :(

Too bad for you and for them.

Honest, I wish my parents-in-law were stuck in Sweden. For a few decades or so...

  • I flew in yesterday, I must have been one the lucky ones!

  • Anyone else considered the possibility that this eruption is God's way of showing His disapproval of the Glossy Girls on Bikes thread?

  • No, icelandic bankers are trying to get humanitarian aid. They have been using this to hurry things along

  • Anyone else considered the possibility that this eruption is God's way of showing His disapproval of the Glossy Girls on Bikes thread?

Lucky that he doesn't have access to the private section and the mosque thread!

  • We were going to through a surprise party for a friend who lives in Munich. We all live scattered around Europe, so it took a lot of planning to get everyone sorted, and we don't really meet that often

Only one of us made it there last night in the end. And he doesn't know if he will be able to leave on Sunday. What a bloody mess.

  • Okay flew out Thursday Morning to Milan for work we are trapped, every hire car for 100km has been rented. No planes, ferries are not taking ANY foot passenger reservations until monday, more than a Million people displaced.

Also all the hotels are full and charging stupid money. First available ticket by plane is sunday night £880 on BA at 11:45PM.

I have even tried to buy a 2nd hand van to get me and 7 colleagues home (cheaper than staying here in the hotel until problem is over) but I am not registered in Italy so thats not possible.

I have now chartered a bus to drive me and 30 other people from Milan to Calais, but he wont take us on the ferry and none of the ferries are taking foot passengers.

I know this is a really long shot..... but any one own a boat? (remember Dunquerque) or a van that can seat 6 people who wants to have a return trip to calais, get cheap fags and booze. (I only need to get my 6 staff back, even if you cannot take me)

I have a duty of care to my team to get them home no matter what.

    Any help suggestions welcome.

  • Thumb it, seriously

    All those truckers and that....

  • eurostar?

  • Buy bicycles and ride home?

  • All Eurostars are totally booked

I had two Italians in my office for three dyas, supposed to fly back to Turin/Milan yesterday. They tried Eurostar but seems everyone has the same idea

They're hopefully going back by plane tomorrow afternoon

  • Eurostar for my whole team would cost £1500,- plus not till sunday so another night with 4 hotel rooms as we are 7 ppl in total.

bicycles doesnt get us on the ferry they are not accepting foot passengers (or people on bikes)

@Pistanator I am in Milan now, people here are saying they may close Milan airport tomorrow.

I would thumb it but my staff did not bum around like me when they were students and are a bit nervous about thumbing it (a few young ladies worried about going alone, so i am trying to keep ppl together as much as possible) also hope my credit card doesn't max out soon as then i am royally up shit creek.

thanks for suggestions keep em comming
