  • Organisers of the Halfords Tour Series have revealed the UK 10 towns and cities that will host the racing this May and June.

The races kick off at Canary Wharf in London on 25 May, then move around the southern part of the UK to eventually finish in Woking on 24 June. In total, there will be four new venues compared to 2009: Canary Wharf, Durham, Portsmouth and Kettering.

"It's fantastic to see so many of our 2009 venues again choosing to host the Halfords Tour Series and with the addition of four new venues, including the showpiece curtain-raiser at Canary Wharf, the 2010 event promises to be even bigger and better than before," said Tour Series technical director Mick Bennett.

Each race will start at 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with the exception of Chester which takes place on a Monday evening. They will all be televised on ITV4 at 7pm the evening after each round.

10 teams will contest the series: Team Corley Cycles, CyclePremier.com–Metaltek, Endura Racing, Team Ireland, Kuota–Road CC, Motorpoint Marshalls Pasta, Pendragon-Le Col Colnago, Team Raleigh, Rapha Condor Sharp, Sigma Sport–Specialized.

Anyone want to ride down and watch?

  • do you have to use a Halfords £50 "fall apart after 25 miles" bike?

  • the irony of Halfords sponsoring these is just wtf

  • Seeing as I work in the big ugly silver building in that photo, it'd be rude not to... I suggest pre-race beers in one of Canary Wharf's many hideous hostelries beforehand...

  • the irony of Halfords sponsoring these is just wtf

Nicole Cooke, Ed Clancy, and Rob Hayles have ridden for Team Halfords Bikehut, so its not that outrageous...

  • there.

  • Sounds really good.

  • Will head down for this.

  • It will be mad fun...

  • I'm in

  • haha maybe halfords should sponsor some quality stock acquisition experts for their "bicycle" sales, sounds good anyway

  • Ace team!

  • In.

Will the Rollapaluza rigs be there?

  • Circuit map and teams are up, just a reminder that this is next Tuesday!

  • The wind will probably play a role ...

  • that reminds me of a shitty 'trick' i used to do when i was 10... slam on the front break, do a massive endo, leap the handlebars with one leg on each side, and land on my feet with the bike crashing to the ground behind me. It was neither impressive nor gracious and it didn't do my bike any good.

  • ^ bikerfox crash, you mean.

  • i will be there.

    close to home for me.

  • Circuit map and teams are up, just a reminder that this is next Tuesday!

that lap is like 300 yards long, if that.

  • that lap is like 300 yards long, if that.

    It's 1km

  • Oh yeah...weird.

How many laps do they do, anyone? 60 or so?

  • ^ bikerfox crash, you mean.

Ha! I'd forgotten about that dude. *Shudders
