Do all pedals have the same thread size nowadays? When I was a youngun BMX pedals wouldn't fit on non bmx cranks.

this!!! they look like those fecking nasty 1/2 mofo's...that are njot use to man nor beast...good as a paper weight though...
what I never understood is why on a bike that was supposed to be bashed to fuckery...would you make the pedal shaft more prone to failure by shaveing another mill or more of it...makeing it proper skinny...and not able to fit the majority of cranks....
I have 3 pairs at home for sale (gt/haro/?) if people want attractive door stops?sorry to thread hijack!!!

So, in answer to my original question....do all newer pedals have the same thread size? Can I buy some of those spangly plastic BMX pedals?

@ wingedangel - I think it's because of the historical use of one-piece (ashtabula) cranks. Larger threading would have made the crank ends too large.

GT Grips added, also a £5!
stripped me old bmx naked, all parts for a fiver! (apart from the frame!)
For sale pickup Central London or posted total will be worked out
i've also still got the frame with the crankset and at GT Piston Stem which refuses to come off.
