That looks like more drop than 50mm, you may need a long drop. Also not clear from the pix whether the fork crown is drilled for an allen key type or whether you need a nut fitting. If it's both long drop and nut fitting, the brake you need is available but not commonly held in stock by shops or even wholesalers, due to the limited call for it. SJSC have a brake which will fit, whatever kind you need

Have a look on the back of the forks and see if the hole is recessed or not. Does look like you need a deep drop one. If it is recessed this is the cheapest deep drop one I could find: http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/sessionID/ONB/product-Shimano-Shimano-R-450-Dual-Pivot-Brake-Calipers-47-57-mm-Deep-Drop-Allen-Key-Fitting-17651.htm

Just bought a pair of nut fitting deep drop Alhonga calipers from Spa cycles. £24 inc postage.

If it's cheap you want, seek out some old Weinmann 730s, but they're nowhere near as nice as modern Tektros.

That's all great advice, many thanks. The hole is not recessed at all = nut fitting bolt
The drop of 50mm came from Hilarystone when he sold me the frame so I'd assume it to be right. -

Or those bad boys. Many thanks for the advice, greatly appreciated.
I'm after a reasonable quality caliper brake for a drop of 50/44mm (that's the note that came with the frame).
I went into my LBS the other day and they just made funny noises about how it was awkward. I didn't quite get their logic, it's a standard 530 road fork show here http://www.flickr.com/photos/33449131@N02/4476073308/
Any advice on wether I can't just get any old brake and shove it on appreciated.
Postage to Brighton please.
Many thanks
Tim
