personally i'm not convinced, no mention of who's building it but lots of talk of 'years of experience' but how many of those as a builder? did he do a quick course in welding and call himself a framebuilder? or is it built by somebody else?
i certainly wouldn't pay £900 to somebody without a fair few frames having gone out the door.
£900 would get you something really nice from mercian, rourke and numerous others.
the twin tubes are a way to get stiffness when tube o/d's were not available in larger sizes, now columbus, deda, reynolds and true-temper all make oversize tubes that solve this problem and result in a lighter stiffer frame.

i expect a few hipsters will be seduced by the looks.

  • Good to see another Brit framebuilder out there, does seem like a lot of money but that's what you have to pay these days...

  • Paul Vincent used to make bmx frames in the 80's.

  • no mention of that in the article but then it's a road site and maybe they don't like those nasty street kidz who ride those silly little bikes.

  • I don't understand why he's released a "prototype" frame sprayed with a can to the press? I'm not into the build either.

  • I think the double tubing does look quite good but really don't like where the seat-tube meets. The finishing by the dropouts looks a bit poo too - if he put a bit more effort in to the details they could be really nice though.

  • looks like a tarted up create, with a few stolen parts attached, £900 for a frame is taking the piss.

  • Too expensive!

  • Nice cork tape though.

  • look at all that heavy brazing...

  • I think they mean years of experience "as a bike tester". So he probably knows the right setup for each individual??
Anyway, definitely wouldn't be paying that kind of money.

    +1

Unfortunatly over-riding the +1 above. Its a bit gimicky as a frameset, and that build is nasty.

  • Odd. Saxon frames used to be built that way back in the 30s and 40s, the idea being that you could bring the rear wheel forward between the twin seat tubes, shorten the chainstays and therefore have a stiffer bike.

So +1 on the gimmick then.
