  • Has anyone else dealt with these muppets? I've had it after waiting two weeks for an order and then being lied to over the phone.

    :(

Subject: RE: Discount Bicycles Limited Dispatch Confirmation ******
    Importance: High

    Hi,

    Facts:
    1) I placed this order 14 days ago
    2) In that period you have not made a single attempt to communicate to say there is a delay with the order
    3) I emailed sales@discountbicycles.co.uk on 30/4 asking for an update to which I have still not received a reply
    3) When I phoned on Tuesday 6/4 you said this order had been dispatched on Tuesday morning, which clearly was a lie judging by this dispatch email which says it was dispatched today

I was willing to tolerate the two week (!) delay and even the lack of communication, but being lied to I cannot accept.

As such please cancel this order and refund my money with immediate effect.

I buy almost everything online but it is quite rare to deal with such unprofessionalism in an online retailer. You will certainly never see my business again, and I will be posting on a London based cycling forum that I frequent about my experiences, their results are usually at the top of Google on cycling topics.

If the order has in fact dispatched I will be refusing delivery, and I am placing the order elsewhere.

Please confirm when you will be refunding me.

    Regards,
    Daniel

  • To be fair they are called discountbicycles.co.uk

  • fair enough and good on yer for warning others.

  • People putting the high importance thing on emails used to drive me crazy.

I do hate being lied to though, I agree there.

30/4?? no wonder they haven't delivered!

    and two point 3) 3) 's ?

    "unprofessionalism" ;p

    +1

You should read up on mail order rights before firing off angry emails too.

Thinking back I am sure I had to reclaim money with my credit card from discount-supplements.co.uk...

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again

    Or something!

I'm British - complaining is a built in function, I don't concern myself with your facts!

    Haha fair enough

  • Why don't you pop in and sort it out face to face? They have a shopfront on milkwood road, SE24. I guess not possible if you're not in London of course...

  • I'm British - complaining is a built in function, I don't concern myself with your facts!

Come on, if you were properly British you'd phone them up and tut. Loudly.

Or a really good frown. Nothing says "this is not acceptable, I expect a refund and an apology" like a good frown.

    Especially over the phone

  • also, looking at their selection of bicycles, what the shit could you have possibly found that was actually worth buying?!

A mudguard and an inner tube... OK not the most high value items but during the two weeks while I've been waiting for this delivery I've had rainy commutes with my arse soaked and imagining being roadside without a spare tube trying to find the puncture by dipping the innertube in a puddle.

    .

  • Fk. I ordered my bars for tweed run from them..explaining that I need them for the 9th.

no offence, but you sound like exactly the sort of customer who would really wind me up!

mudguards/inner tubes?? just get them from a retail store! most of them will price match any online stockist anyway.

  • hahaha check the prices, what failures.

  • I bought a great Pitbull mini d-lock off these guys. I dropped by the warehouse in Herne Hill so can't offer an opinion on the mail order but thought the prices were ok and they weren't pretending to be high-end in the same way a B&B on Seven Sisters Road doesn't suggest it's Claridges. Bad service is bad service for sure but be realistic before you damn the business over an inner tube and a piece of moulded plastic.

If they aren't delivered I can go and collect a set for you.
