Immaculate condition as bought not long time ago as a temporary desktop
How long(ish)?
Trying to figure out if the living room needs an upgrade. I'll check the spec of the one I have.

Wasn't DJ looking for one?

I think I bought it in November, but I use my laptop most of the time.

He's never got in touch with me, bastard!
By the way, it's a snappy machine, but better left without an upgrade to the Snow Leopard, as it can be sluggish while multitasking when you open Photoshop and a website with Flash at the same time. Web browsing, movies etc. is OK. Photoshop is also snappy, but not while playing Mafia Wars.

Sure you know more about it than me and are correct, but isn't SL meant to be faster than Leopard, due to smaller footprint?

It's supposed to be, but I'm not sure it's worth to upgrade on a humble machine. I wouldn't expect a miracle apart from saving few gigabytes of space. There are also some printing issues etc. (I've solved mine with Epson R360 by using a generic driver). It's not always the platform's fault, more of the software which doesn't catch up. Oh, and you can't use Adobe CS2, if someone still hasn't bought CS4 nor downloaded the new torrent (cough!).
Anyway, I have both disks - the Leopard one comes with the computer, so if I clean up the disk I will install it again. It runs 10.6.3 at the moment.
Perhaps this will help to make up minds:

Well I use CS4 but not had a problem with macbook, dell mini 10v netbook hackintosh (not the most overpowered machine in the world, to say the least) or my quad core intel 4gb hackintosh. That article is quite old - 10.6.3 came out the other day, it's fairly mature now.

I use this system but with the 4gb ram upgrade ad it's wicked - never had a problem. Had mine a similar length of time - loads better than my G4

I've had dibs, but it's still here, as nobody seems to have any money at the moment.
If someone really wants it, but doesn't have any money until payday, you can send me a deposit via PayPal - I will chuck the whole lot into the box and put aside until you are ready to pick it up. I'm not running away and some people here now me and have my address :-)
I can wait till the week after Tweed Run and then it will go on eBay.I've ordered a Macbook which is more suitable for me right now, so the whole lot can go, as the monitor has VGA input only and even MacBook Pro doesn't have mini-DVI anymore and Mini Display to VGA adaptor doesn't recognise all the monitors. Probably will have to shell out on Apple display. HP2309v works well with mini-DVI/VGA adapter, but not with Mini Display/VGA. Some monitors work ok, but to make 100% sure it will work and you don't want my monitor, make sure yours have DVI input. There's that thing with Mini Display, that it's a digital signal only and people have problem with VGA and also with DVI, because there's DVI-D, but some need DVI-I, so you have to daisy chain adapters etc.. You have to buy all the adapters yourself from Apple and they are pricey (and there's no guarantee they will work either). Anyway, long story... My setup works.

Sorry, forgot to post again. The one I have is basically the same spec (think the graphics card on yours is more up to date, but that is about it) so there is no point in me changing.
They are great in the living room, hooked up to a big telly. Someone buy it.
