Rider down.. Me

Finally happened 2 weeks Monday, riding home on the coast road, hit by a transit van that simply didn’t stop before turning leftm, hit me side on and fractured my foot, one cleat ripped out of my shoes, split my piss pot too.
Driver claimed I was “riding too fast” the police did not seem convinced by this explanation as 1. it was my right of way anyway 2. there was a massive headwind and I was on a singlespeed, 3. im a bit chubby. Im off crutches now so im fine apart from some bruises and a sore neck but it looks like my front wheel and forks will need replacing as he hit me hard enough to snap the front axle and bend the rim. aint had the heart to have a proper look yet .

Im just glad I didnt ride my new bike home cos it was raining otherwise that would have added insult a bit. Thanks- I'll see you all for a ride or Polo as soon as im better..

yeah andy the mtb is for my epic 33 mile a day ride!! i dont think it will be TOO hard... though it is singlespeed and has 29" wheels!

Im going for a compo claim.. I wouldn't have bothered if he hadn't rued to pin it on me :-(
