Bloody hell! for £160 you're half way to a new printer!
At our place we always use independents, but we're up North, so no use recommending. How about changing the printheads yourself?
This might help:

£160 is ridiculous but I'm gona look around I think. Its hard to get a hold of Epson Print heads but I might have to hunt one down.
CityGent - I Did a few more 'Clean Print head' at its bit better but it drinks up ALOT (about 1/6th) of ink everytime you do it.

Perhaps biuy some cheap carts just for cleaning, or refillable ones– but fill them with alcohol?

Do anyone know of a good place to get the missus printer serviced? she have it for 3 years (Canon iX4000) and it's not exactly as smooth as it used to be.
Anyone ever have their inkjet printer serviced using an independent servicing company?
I have a Epson R1800, hasn't been used for a while and prints are quite dodgy. I've done the obvious (cleaning and adjusting software interface) but think the actual print head/ink pads may need servicing.
Epson charge £160 whereas indie shop are circa £29-£79.
Any help appreciated.
